Is any of the Big 4 forcing you back to the office? Thinking about joining but don’t really want to give up WFH.
Anyone having spectrum Internet issues in Manhattan area all day today? Love WFH except the moments when I have outages and my team thinks I’m lying lol. And connecting to my phones hotspot is inefficient
I just want to hear the explanation for why staff who started during COVID are doing so badly on average (and I have heard this from every level including staff themselves) from the pro 100 percent work from home people. If you agree it’s real, what is your solution? If it can’t be fixed, are we just accepting that the people we expect to backfill our positions aren’t going to be ready?
Anyone else experiencing strain in your relationships being at home all day with your significant other? I usually did well separating work things stress, priorities etc… when I was traveling. Literally able to leave it behind at the office and take my commute home either flying or otherwise as my time to myself to decompress so ready to take on family life when I got home. But with WFH I find myself struggling with this as stress is bleeding in with how I interact at home.
Recently received an offer from a mid-size public firm and unsure if I should consider the opportunity. I’m currently in S1 SALT in NJ. The details are below: - Pay: $80k (12% upward bump than what I’m getting right now) - Title: Semi senior, but up for promotion in July if all goes well - Role: General tax, but mainly federal tax. One of the main reasons I’m considering -Location: Technically NYC, but assuming I do well while we are still remote I can work out of NJ 3 days after covid ends

First World problem Been traveling while working remote for a year now and think I’m getting super depressed about it ending. I don’t know how I’m going to go back to the office grind and not constantly moving.
Would you accept capping billable hours at 40/week in exchange for being able to work while completely remote?
New to this NY freeze - so when does an agency just call it quits and have everyone work from home? Or is this wishful thinking?
My 2 toddlers have been asked to stay home for 2 weeks now due to kids in their classrooms testing positive to Delta variant. Any other parent seeing this trend? How do you manage this and work from home?
Are we able to mirror our motions/voices/moves to a different location? Who wants to work on this initiative? Would be a perfect tool for WFH situation.
I am new to salesforce, want to buy a desk since I am remote, does Salesforce reimburse or pay for the desk?
My company wants to go back to the office but in a hybrid setting on our choice of how many days to go in etc. Is it ok to ask them to reimburse my metro fare since it’s gonna be an added expense that I can just save by staying remote...? Especially since my salary is already bare
Taxes. I work in Chicago but interviewing for a remote role with a New York agency. Will I have to pay taxes in Illinois and New York? How has this worked for all of you during remote?
Hello All. I am a recent licensed attorney in NY and AZ. A former judge from Albania. I hold a JD from ASU. Unfortunately, being only focused on trademark associate positions, I have not landed my first year associate job. Actually working in house as a trademark paralegal. Do you remember how did you get your first job as a trademark attorney? Where is a good place I should send my resume in AZ, NY, or for remote? New in the States and I do not have such network! Thanks
I report to a VP who also handles HR. I am working on building FCPA policies and a compliance program. Today she told me she needs to check with an outside attorney to see if CA law will cause issues for us. . . I just need to vent. I’m trying to figure out why is she paying me, but then again I totally shouldn’t care!! I’ve learned my lesson. Don’t report to someone with no legal background.
What is the typical duration from resume submission to first interview for FAANG? It’s only been a week but I’m anxious to hear back 😅
I had a lot of meetings/interviews with a service line and office I was thinking of transferring. The last time I had a call with a partner was two Fridays ago (10 days). And they told me they’ll discuss and let me know in the next week. I sent a follow up email after my meeting. But haven’t heard anything back. Is it a bad sign? Or should I try reaching out again?
Have two offers and unsure which to take. Ex Big 4 and have done software startups since. Option 1: Director role back in Big 4. Good package. Good fit with my area of expertise, focusing on tech solutions and partnering with startups. Working across all industries and clients. Option 2: Big Tech/GAFAM (level = L6 google/e6 FB/65 Microsoft, which I’m told is Director equivalent) Even better package. Account Technology Strategist. Less client diversity but using breadth of their tech.
New manager in South Africa. My CTC is equivalent to about $45k. Is that on par with the rest of the world? Could I expect that type of salary if I were to immigrate to the US or Europe?

Or are there any other firms who focus mainly on Supply chain and logistics consulting? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company Deloitte EY PwC Kearney
Final interview at EY last Thursday and still haven’t heard back. Should I take that as a no? Think interview went pretty decent though
Fellow fishes - need some help communicating this one. I am in industry and I have an offer from Accenture which would represent a dream career move for me, as well as a 60% increase in comp and a 20k sign on bonus. The issue is that my manager and the team I work with are just the best people and I am nervous about breaking the news to them. I have only been at this place for about a year and a half. How does I break the news to them?
Anyone else burnt out/sick of the creative hustle? I'm like 3 years in and made only a few portfolio pieces. Feeling over the constant struggle to get good work made vs. the never ending stream (cont)

35 yo with 340k in 401k. Same amount between investment and savings. Would it be stupid to lower 401k contribution to pay down mortgage faster? (250k remaining, 2.5%/15 yr).
