How long would you stomach a job that paid badly for the experience/brand? Currently make 200k. Google offering 150k, would be closer to 300 after promotion in 2 years. Not sure if it’s worth it. Current place is no name shop.
Has anyone else noticed bugs in trailhead?? Sometimes I could throw my laptop... I really wish there was an email address to raise these concerns to with some urgency bc it throws my momentum off being stuck for hours when I know I’m following instructions right....
Parents — how do you do it? I feel like I can handle this job okay, but even though I would love to have kids, I just don’t see how I could work the hours, raise a child, and take care of myself the way I need to function properly. Thinking of just paying the debt and leaving the profession before having kids.
How would you list a quick promotion on your resume? Was promoted in under a year and want to add that as a bullet
Ideas on how to go about asking for a raise? I’m constantly getting messages from other recruiters with higher comps than what I currently make. I’m feeling under paid but not sure how to go about it.
I’m new to consulting, going on 6 months. Ive essentially been in an apprenticeship program & my base salary is currently 60k. I pretty much got paid to learn so I’m very appreciative. My first promotion is coming but I’m not sure it’ll be significant. Im hoping to be at 80-100k+ in the next two years but we’ll see. What discussions, roles, or companies should I be looking at to break 100k annually soon?
When I moved in-house a year ago as a BigLaw mid-level, I took a 45% pay cut, far more than I was comfortable with (although I was fine with a 20-30% cut). I took the job because it was a great role and I was focused on making the jump in house and developing the skills I wanted, which required me moving away from my firm practice area. Now that my year-end review is coming up, how do I ask my company for a significant pay raise (not just a 2-5% inflation-matching raise)?
TFW your partner says, "if I give you a raise, will you buy a new %#^*$& phone?" And you say, "Yes, when can I expect that to take effect?"
With Bitcoin segwit locking in tomorrow I see Bitcoin will hit 4k in next two weeks. All alt coins will raise along with that, esp, ant shares- might reach 35$, while ether stays flat till November. After ETH moves to proof of stake it shoots to 400$. What do you guys think?
Please explain the difference between wanting or feeling entitled to a promotion and actually deserving one. There's no such thing as a ribbon for participation in the real world.
Been here a year. Learned my coworker who slacks off (same level) is making 30k more than me. Even after a mere 5% raise at my annual rev. Feeling pretty down about it. What’s the best approach?
Need a sanity check on this one:
I’ve been at a company for 3 years now. I am on a Finance team but I am the only person with a technical skill set and work more closely with IT on a regular basis. I try not to read into things but I’ve never been given any recognition in large team meetings for my work where everyone else has. Although my manager and coworkers not on my team will compliment me, I feel discouraged because not only was my promotion the only one which wasn’t announced to the…..
Any insights on Medly (pharmacy) culture, wlb, perks/benefits? Insights on their ProdOps team - salary/tc, raise, level?
I was “promoted” a few years ago from an associate to a senior staff position (got a raise etc). They picked me b/c I’m smart and work hard. Baby associates now treat me like a secretary. Ridiculous.
How unlikely is it that we’ll read in the NYT 6 months from now that someone at McK built a model to prove that artificially reducing baby formula supply for some time will raise prices and double the bottom line for the client?
Have a report that does great every day work. Keeps the biz running. Wants to be sr but lacks the drive and overall just not that good doing big idea creative work nor dealing with clients directly. I tried mentoring them, but they’ve only show slight improvement. They are due for a promotion, but doesnt feel like they have the chops. What should i do?
I asked for a raise at work and they told me I would have to wait until the new fiscal year (5 months from now) before they could make any adjustments. I provided many reasons to my management as to why I deserve the raise and all the successes I’ve had over the years with this company and management agreed that they were all valid reasons that warrant a raise. Does it make sense to stay and wait it out or should I be looking for a new job because I am being under valued?
I have an offer from Coforge and joining date is in exactly a month.

One of my queries is regarding the Medical Insurance. As per the offer letter it mentions "Mediclaim Scheme with Floater Option of Self + 3 or Self + 5 with/without parents. " : INR. 150,000/- to INR. 3,000,000/-
Does this mean that without paying extra, the med insurance is just 1.5L?
My husband went and took a work call outside, sat on a public bench (we live in a downtown area), then came back to the apartment and proceeded to sit on the bed with the same clothes.
Please suggest good areas to live near Coforge office in Greater noida
Budget is not a constraint Coforge
Place bets: If EY break apart their audit and consulting business, will FAAS stay under EY or will they finally be able to move over to consulting?
How do I ask for vacation? I would like to take Christmas through NYE off. I met my hours for this year 2-3 weeks back
Any peeps out and about in ATL tonight ? Would be keen to grab a drink with fellow 🐠 if anyone is interested. Based out of midtown.
Thinking about getting a literacy certification in wingdings.
What sort of salary bump should I expect afterwards?
Great piece on the failures of the #MeToo and Lean In movements to demonstrably change our workplaces.
