Practice telling yourself that quarantine is not a productivity contest! Maybe try scheduling in meal times in to your calendar, you need to take time to take care of yourself so you can have the energy to stay focused during your designated work time.

You only need to show up on calls. Show up on calls one minute early, and everyone thinks you are efficient. That’s all.

Meal plan for breakfast and lunch. Even if it's just instant oatmeal and a sandwich you made last night. Skipping meals will only aggrevate your anxiety. Can't stay calm if your body thinks it's is in survival mode.

Wait skipping meals causes anxiety?

Pack a breakfast, lunch and snacks by your desk and put a calendar reminder for each. Force yourself to eat. I know the kitchen isn't far away, but getting up and making a sandwich /scrounging for food takes you away from your flow. Much easier to eat a small prepped meal at your desk while continuing to work. Ideally, that will reduce your anxieties, make you more productive until you can finally reach a point of stepping away for food. Don't forget your thermos full of coffee and getting up for 15 min stretch breaks occasionally.

I can honestly say that working from home these last few years has been the best thing that’s happened to my career as a producer. I never realized how distracting being in an office was. Now, I actually can focus on bidding, scheduling, reviewing contracts, and all of the stressful parts of production WITHOUT having to factor in code switching and a commute. I left my agency producer role for a fully remote producing role and I’m just….thrilled. Anyone else refuse to go back to office? 😩

Confession - I don't want to go back to office. I'm happy working from home and find no solid reason in stepping back. Might seem like a silly question but do any of your firms, or do you know of any firms, that have fairly progressive cultures? WFH has made me realize how incredibly stifled I felt in the office. I want to be able to show some tattoos, have a purple streak in my hair, wear artistic clothing etc and still be taken seriously. Does this kind of utopia exist or am I being extremely naive? I'm originally an artist. I hate how much I've realized that I've stifled my personality for this industry.

Partners (at Deloitte at least), are you all trained to refer to everyone as “good people” when speaking to them? I find it a bit disingenuous when Partners who I just met tell me I’m “good people”, “do great work”. I just scheduled a first networking call with you, or got pulled in to your project 2 seconds ago. I know you barely know me 😆

Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!
