Realizing how judgmental many people in the city are, and also that I've become more judgmental since moving to the city and starting my job. Anyone also notice this and have any tips on combating?

I don’t let it bother me, especially in this city. There will always be someone richer, better looking, thinner, fitter, younger, etc. I just focus on what makes me happier and things that are most important to me.

Yeah I definitely got like that too. Mainly as a defense mechanism because I got tired of being nice and optimistic all the time. The feelings ebb and flow so I don’t work on “combating” it per se 🤷🏻‍♀️

Start the change today and stop judging people. Combat it in others by not being defensive when you detect it. Move past it and talk about things we all share in the city (any complaint about the MTA, rent, cans or airports usually creates instant camaraderie!)

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.

Some UX Slack channels were doing well for a while but I definitely don’t see as much traction there. Meetups obviously came and went. Even the portfolio sites like Dribbble and Behance don’t seem that same.

Hello! I'm considering subletting a furnished room or a 1-2 bedroom apartment this summer in Brooklyn (ideally Williamsburg, Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Prospect Heights or Crown Heights). My budget would be up to $1500 for a room and up to $3k for a furnished 2-bed (or even 1 bed if large enough). Are there particular Facebook groups or websites you would suggest I use to help search? And of course, please feel free to dm me if you know of something. Thanks :)

Best to give equal amounts for all 8 even though some have never helped me, etc. (e.g., super or handyman has not helped me with anything)?
