Any Pms out there making over 200k
I feel this so hard. There was one time my name was left out when thanking the team verbally I actually thanked myself out loud after everyone else was done. It was 100% worth the look on my team’s face.
I always make sure to call out my PM team’s accomplishments in a larger group setting to show our office what it takes to do what we do. After doing that for a while people knew to include our names in the thank yous and congratulatory messages.
There are only two types of PMs: those who bust their asses and get no recognition and those who, uhm, no… there’s only the one type.
I LOVE my PM partners. I will sing your praises all day every day. I couldn’t successfully get to my part of the job without y’all.
Anyone who doesn’t recognize the efforts of a good PM can just try to get anything done without you. 💜
This is a great thing to bring up in 360 feedback if given the opportunity. It’s really important to thank everyone, and PM is especially thankless!
We all know you held that team together and worked your ass off. Good job! Kudos! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much ☺️☺️☺️
Thank you all 🙏 We had another situation where we were going down the line and I made sure to mention myself bc I was sick and tired and wasn’t going to go unacknowledged in another situation! ESP when the forum was just our team (vs another company wide meeting). Acknowledgement DOES matter. This isn’t God’s work so I need to hear a little somethin’ somethin’ to keep my chin somewhat up lol
For what it’s worth, I get a lot more money and respect outside of advertising for my program director skills… Tech companies need our skills to help them keep on track, launch and be innovative in our approach
I have to work so hard to get on the internal Thank You email and I’m always surprised when it happens 😠
DISLIKE!
My producer and I were the only two left off of acknowledgements in multiple publications that were highlighting our recent work 🙂 it was submitted by our AS who said they *try* to get our names added
Nah they just left us of the initial credits list and when the article got circulated to our team, we called it out and there was a piss poor effort made to correct. I'm moving off the account shortly, it's a dumpster fire in multiple ways
100% agree. Thankless doesn't begin to cover it.
I empathize... I do. Sometimes I wonder if it's how Project Management is utilized in organizations. I have worked with absolute ROCK STAR project managers and they make a huge difference. Unfortunately, in my 10 years of Product Management they have been very few and far between. They're pretty much all useless at my company now. Have you ever thought of pivoting out of project management into product management? Product owner?
Senior Product and Operations Manager 1, I have always wondered what a product manager does and if that is something I could transition to. Would love to DM you if you don’t mind.
