Ya I'm not sure what core values have to do with this. We get off planes and go straight to work. 5-7 hour commute not a big deal. But when I had 24 hours of travel in coach, got to my hotel at 2am and had to be presenting in a conference room at 7am it wasn't pretty. I'm pretty sure that's caring about the bottom line and not your employees
@a4 client tried for me as I am the only ACN resource going and it got denied. Guess I'm just not special enough lol
Just get it approved by the MD, if you can't put someone on business, I can help you cut the cost completely by not flying at all lol
That's not true. Managers and above at ACN travel business class on international flights. Just not consultants
That's quite ridiculous to have to fly coach internationally.
@ACN1 nope it sr managers. I did 2 trips this year to Saudi Arabia and they wouldn't let me fly business. But FYI you can get a medical waiver if you have some of pain that makes flying in coach bad for extended periods of time
Thanks
Well I guess it's ok if 6-7 hours. But this is over 24 hours😫
@a2 but every normal person probably hurts after a trip like that!
I flew economy to Singapore and wanted to kill myself. Good luck OP! Go see your doctor and get some drugs ASAP.
@a3 ouch! I may get upgraded but knowing my luck lol
That blows. I fly first class and I'm not even a M. Depends on partner I guess.
See if they'll pay for economy plus. I flew Emirates and they don't have an economy plus. Lesson learned. I think it's just a couple hundred bucks.
I got no issue with our policies, client dictated,
I'm also past that point so may be hypocritical, but we have core values and we deliver for our clients
@a4 which core value suggests level should dictate comfort?
@a3 I was wondering what to say to that! I think ACN is one of the few with this policy so that's why I'm pretty surprised.
@a2 exactly! It'll be ok but it's a bit unnecessary.
Also the travel policy allows you to break the flight into 8 hour segments and spend a night in a hotel on the project. It means it may require you leaving a day earlier but it would cut the travel up into an interesting journey.
How do you get international travel as a tech consultant? What kinda technologies? I want in :/
