Really enjoy finer whiskies but don’t know my way around them in detail. Any suggestions on things to start with and where I can buy(affordably)?

if bourbon is your go-to, i got my start at breakingbourbon.com; great reviews to discover what you like

I use this religiously when I go to my local liquor store

If you’re in New York, you can go to the Flatiron Room and order a flight. Or you find a friend like me who has 60 open bottles of whisky and will walk you through them. If you visit the right distillery, you can also taste your way through a good range of styles- Glenmorangie has quite the gamut. Or you find a quiet bar in Scotland or Tokyo and let the barman help you…

If you are more interested in bourbon or rye, I would recommend a similar strategy but instead go to Travel Bar in carrol gardens as their prices are a lot cheaper than flatiron room

Go to a bar or friends house to find out what type of whiskey you enjoy the most (Scotch, Irish, Bourbon, Rye, etc) from their you can usually find some good low to mid tier whiskeys that you can start exploring with. Price is based on rarity not quality 😉

Why we need to get back to traveling. Miss some fine whiskies!

This forum has helped me explore more options, whiskey forums on Reddit, bourbon accounts on Instagram, or just fellow whiskey drinking friends are a great resource

I meant to mention this earlier but if you go to a liquor store looking for bourbon, don't give a price range. Just tell them you want something that's good or that they would recommend. I hear too many people say like $50+ and then the store rep picks up a bottle that never moves because it's over priced like Calumet Farms or Widow Jane.

I find half the fun is talking to your local store folks about what you’ve tried and liked..then buying different ones to try…

Make friends with your local store owner. See if he or she likes whiskey and then make friends

My fabulous legal assistant is leaving at the end of the year to focus on her mayoral campaign. I live in a very rural area & there are no legal assistants around. Everyone applying have just worked at hospital as assistants. I don’t have time to hold their hand. I need someone running from the start. My friend moved back to the area and she is interested in becoming a paralegal. Any tips/suggestions on what sites, online education, etc to refer her to. I’m at the point of hiring a virtual asst.

Would like to hear opinions on this scenario: County-owned Nursing Home & Rehab center (240 skilled, 40 rehab beds) being sold to a new buyer. The home has a contract w/ a food service company that would need renewed by the potential buyer if they choose. The employee in this scenario is a Clinical Nutrition Manager who works for this food service company. Their department is Clinical Nutrition, consisting of 2 employees including the Manager. Job security, maintaining similar pay up in the air.

Seeking advice / recommendations: Hello everyone, I'm trying to get into real estate investing. Some of the books I've read have talked about buying multi-unit properties and utilizing investors to get the necessary capital. Does anyone have experience in getting investors? How do you identify investors who may be interested? Are there any sites where you can invest in or post real estate investment opportunities? Thank you in advance

Looking to relocate to the south-east U.S. to be nearer family. Anyone know of any good agencies/clients hiring senior roles at the moment or will be soon? Ideally one that's going hybrid at least. Fully remote also good, but would like to be in the SE so going to the office would be at least an option. And yes, I've looked at LinkedIn, Indeed, Google etc.
