Kudos to you for taking that time for your health! There's a good chance that your renewed health is bringing a new perspective with it. What can you see yourself doing that seems like it would contribute to your newfound health and livelihood? It might look a lot different than the past, but that's ok.
If you’re getting smashed by the ATS you need to fix your resume. There are tons of ways to get thru. For example pasting key words in white on your word doc or Reformatting in general does wonders. Use reddits resumes sub and have somebody help you.
Also, being a data analyst wouldn’t be too bad either.
I think you would fit well in a more data-heavy FP&A role that could have aspects of programming and BI tools used (think Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, Python, R, etc.). These are more commonly seen in the tech industry like at Google for instance (their financial analysts are essentially data analysts but not too far gone to be considered as data analysts). Either way, finance roles in the tech industry seem to be more focused on those aspects that you’re looking for more, and the pay is better too.
Good for you for taking care of yourself. It takes alot of guts to do what is best for you. I would highly recommend networking with some folks on Linked in and seeing what might be a good fit for you going forward.
Aduro advisors, fund admin. You’ll never look back
Their average pay for fund manager varies, I think it’s anywhere from 95-130k. If your interested, let me know!
It's great that you are now feeling good and much healthier. Are you planning to return to full-time work? How about remote jobs?
Totally agree. My role is currently hybrid and I love it. It's not that exhausting since I only go to the office twice a week. I really hope you land a job soon. Best of luck
From what it sounds like, corporate strategy roles, corporate development (M&A), and FP&A (forecasting) would be your go-to. You really can’t go wrong with any of those.
Would you consider finding a PT role to help pay the bills and then maybe contract work on your own schedule? I did this for a while and found it really helped me build a more flexible and balanced schedule while I was focusing on my health
Yeah I was thinking of doing contract work as an Audit Senior. But now that my physical stamina/health is more manageable now since I bike everyday, I’m ready to go back to work full time. I just have to find the right role that I can be passionate about and one with good WLB and good team.
