You’re *never* really ready for how much a baby will change your lives. And remember that it doesn’t always happen right away. We consulting types like to plan and manage everything down to the smallest detail, but babies don’t care about your plans. Obviously I’m not saying don’t talk to your hubby, but keep in mind that no matter when you officially start *trying,* nature will do its thing.

At 34 (35 now), I was with my husband (then, just “boyfriend,”) in late January on a trip; I have known fertility issues / aka, knew I’d need to have some kind of intervention to get pregnant. I had a serious talk with him about having a baby and he said he was ready. I was SHOCKED. I thought maybe he’d be ready in a year. We stopped using protection and started trying naturally on that trip. We got pregnant within two months with some fertility treatments we started when we got home; I thought it would take a year or more to get pregnant. We fully planned to get engaged/married in the next year, but everything came out backwards. SO happy and this never would have happened if I hadn’t just brought it up! Good luck- just start the conversation- it can’t hurt!

Don’t worry the timing is never good to have a baby. There’s always some reason not to do it, so don’t get too bogged down in “is the time right”

Our nanny takes my 7 month old out for one, sometimes 2, long walks every day (weather permitting). Love the idea of fresh air every day but its often for several hours at a time and he always returns home crying bc she's pushed him to his limit between feedings. She brushes it off saying hes just fussy which kind of irks me. Im also concerned that he's spending too much time strapped in a stroller. Is it reasonable to ask her to take shorter walks? Am I overreacting?

I started working in a agency two months ago, and I have two very big projects running simultaneously. My Creative Director left for paternity leave, and left me with all the work, facing the client, going to shootings, editing. I've been working 15 days straight, no weekends. The agency hasn't given me any back up/someone I can team up with to do the job. Is this normal? I'm used to have a partner, a copywriter or another creative working alongside. Keep in mind that I'm mid-level.

I feel like my kids 1st grade teacher is being too strict, but I'm not sure if this is normal or I'm being sensitive because it's my child. E.g. she gave him 2/10 for his math homework because he doodled on the page, colored in the circle that has the page number, didn't draw the word problem neatly, wrote his last name under the name line, and says some of his numbers aren't legible. All his answers were correct, except one where he forgot to fill in the blank. Is this normal? X-posting

I have so much mom guilt sending my baby to daycare. She’s 6 months old. The transition has been harder on me than her (she seems fine and happy, just isn’t sleeping well there yet) but I wonder if I should try and find a different solution. Part time nanny, part time daycare? We can’t afford a nanny full time. If I’m WFH and we have a nanny part time is it realistic that I’d see her during the day or am I kidding myself?

Wife and kid are going to be out of town for the next 2 weeks. Instead of wasting time, I’d like to do something productive. What would you do if you have say 3+ hours a day. Maybe self help, wealth creation type books, work out daily, take care of some things around the house.
