It depends. Are you in it for the money? If so, it almost sounds like you should stay till manager promo and find another job with a 20k pay bump on a manager salary. If you are looking for work life balance, take the 20k now and enjoy yourself. I’m sure you’ll get raises/promos at this new company too.
Wait it out if you don’t feel like you’re completely done and checked out. If you leave for a senior role I feel like internally you would be pigeonholed. I just recently left while in a similar situation as you but the only difference I don’t have my cpa so I wouldn’t get manager by next promo and I couldn’t wait another 2 years

You’re so close to getting that manager title! I would wait until you become manager, and then leave for manager title in industry. When you go to industry, it’s not easy to get promoted (depending on the company you leave for of course).
There are no guarantees especially with challenges PA firms are currently experiencing.

Wait until you are promoted and get a manager role. Its worth it if its just another 6 months
Tbh manager title doesn’t get you much more

Get an industry manager job.
I left B4 tax as an exp Senior about to be an early manager for an industry asc740 role as a manager. New Comp package was a $50-$60K/year raise depending on how you value these RSUs/cash bonus.
You’re promo to manager won’t be a 20k raise. I’d take it
Don’t believe in early promos, they say what you like to hear to keep you around and as soon as you are useless, they dump you.
Leave. You have to commit to another year and it could easily be the worst year yet. If this new job is solid (including upward mobility), why even stay?
How many years have you been a senior?
Almost 1 1/2
