Do McK / Bain do lateral manager hires? If so, is there an active pipeline or more based on specific group / office need? And what’s the most effective way to apply (ie how critical is a referral)?
1. Do all partners at same level pull same base salary? (Think two 3rd year partners at the same firm, and exclude variable pay) 2. How does this base pay differ at big 4 vs MBB?
Hi 🐠! Class of 2017 here and found out yesterday that I’m being held back a year (as a 3rd year instead of 4th). I feel totally blindsided / actually cried on the Zoom. I’ve reached out to partner-mentor in other groups and they explained that this isn’t a demotion but an opportunity to have more time to acquire mid-level skills before being thrust into that role & failing. I GET that but I feel this is something that should have been messaged BEFORE the review. Such an erosion of trust. Advice?
have an interview for FDD associate/consultant level position. any tips/insight to how to prepare for interviews will be helpful!
do you ask to know the salary of a job during the first interview or do you go through the whole process (could be 2 total interviews, could be 5) to ask? The interview process is such a mental and time drain that I honestly don’t even want to go through it unless I know the salary is something Im interested in.
What is the going hourly rate for a nanny share (2 infants)? I’m being quoted $23/ family (so $46/hr). It’d be $25/ hour for a single family/ infant. Live in Los Angeles. Thank you!
Deloitte Cyber Comp thread. Previous Base/New Base/Title (or Title changes)/AIP/Location
What’s the wlb/culture at firms outside MBB/Big 4? Been at Deloitte for a couple years and am ready for something different. Thinking OW, LEK, Kearney, or others you know of.
What are the salary bands for industry (high-level; yes, I know, lots of variables)? Thanks! Manager: Sr Manager: Director: Sr Director: or if it’s easier Manager: Director: Please feel free to direct me to a resource as I’m sure this question has been exhausted.
Anyone had a interview for Devops role at delloite usi? Can you pls share your interview experience. I have an upcoming interview, it will be helpful. Thanks!
Anyone been able to successfully go the MBB route and be there for family / kids? Or any thoughts on intentionally avoiding the path to have WLB for that reason?
Guys .. has salary credited for you?
Does MBB in particular, McKinsey do case interviews for experienced hires (~4 years experience at big 4/ACN)?
Planning to move to a EU country around summer 2021. Anyone who is a non-EU citizen got a consultancy job in EU countries can share your experiences. 1. How long it took to find a job ? 2. In what practice you got offered a job for ? (Such as technology or risk or IT etc) 3. Did you get offered a job by boutique consultancy companies or sticked with Big4 and MBB ? 4. How was the attitude of HR to you considering the fact that you were a non-EU candidate ? 5. What would be your hints to share ?
What experience/salary/title level should I aim for if I want to look for a new job? Current: Big4, Senior 4, $140k, 10 yoe (demoted from M to Sr when switching from tech consulting to big4 a couple of yrs ago), want to stay in HCOL city
I received an offer from a top company and signed the offer letter 3 weeks ago. They have been distant since then, and their top competitor has made me a better offer in terms of position/title and salary. I also feel this company is a better fit. What do I do?
Was late getting to the gate so I had to check my brand stinking new bag. Seriously considered changing to a later flight right then and there and just posting up at the bar. 😩 #SundayFunDay
For those that have been on a split-start, does Google adjust your salary for local markets? My salary while I wait for my EU passport is €66k which equates to $74k USD, however I can see that the role I have has a higher AVG. starting salary, stateside. Will they adjust for local market, or simply just convert my salary to local currency? I make $90k rn so it’d be a bummer to start making considerably less while I wait 3mo’s to move abroad.
What are my chances at a top MBA program. Preferably Harvard.. African American/ African descent GPA: 3.6 Normal state school university. Majored in Accounting. 3 years at Big 4 2 years doing Economic consulting at top tier firm. Various opportunities disaplaying leadership on my resume from undergrad and post undergrad. GMAT: have no taken what should I aim for? My goal is to get into a top MBA what do I need to do?
What things do MBB firms look for when deciding to promote someone from BA/AC to associate/consultant?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
What would it take for a company to acquire a big 4 or MBB firm? For example would 50% of voting partners need to agree? Personal curiosity and not related to my employer 👀
It looks like I’m going to go 0/3 on my MBB apps :( Where are the next best consulting firms to go to assuming that my primary goals in no particular order are MBA placement, compensation, project/industry variety, and ability to be promoted quickly?
If offered a great position and 30% bump, seems like a no brainer to jump. But I’m wary of an upcoming recession, and how being a new employee would make me vulnerable to layoffs. What do you think?

Any product based companies offering work from home and has opening for Product Manager role ? Can anyone help
Obviously MBB are the top consulting firms, but would people feel different about prestige based on service line? As in, is it better to be any type of BA/EM/etc at McK than doing the “sexiest” strategy work at a B4/tier 2? Would any of y’all at Tier 2s accept any lateral role at MBB? Curious to hear thoughts
Serious question: As a Registered Nurse with 11 years sales experience, why am I constantly turned down for healthcare-related sales roles? Yet on the flip side, I've gotten tons of offers in industrial or engineering spaces. I've worked PRN as a nurse while I've been in sales. All of my sales roles were engineering-based in mechanical tools or chemicals. I've sold into various industries (energy, O&G, aerospace, pharma, HI&I, water treatment, etc). Just looking to get back to my roots.
