I am deputed at the client office. I use PSL laptop only to check mails. But in my last appraisal my manager told me that I need to get 60 credit points for promotion. But due to client work load, i won't be able to do that. So, I have resigned from PSL mentioning the same that promotion will not happen.
But my manager told me that he will try to give me a promotion in next cycle (ignoring the credit points clause). He is asking me to withdraw resign
Shall I withdraw my resign? Persistent

Yes. Definitely. When I got my promo I mentioned to my manager that I've been approached by many recruiters for similar roles and the numbers offered to me are higher (truth). My manager ended up getting me a 40k retention bonus (which I did not accept because retention bonus comes with having to stay 1 or 2 years.) But this shows that there is always room. Get a feel of what's out there for similar roles and talk to your manager about your concerns for being under paid.
There is no retention cash 😞 and there isn't a cap per se, but the company feels like they are making a fair offer because it is 20% penetration into the pay range ($85k-140k, as designated by company). I'm happy it's mid-range and not at bottom, but you raise a good point about me feeling confident in their valuation of me if they're willing to increase the compensation. I've been with them 10+ years and like the benefits and people too much to leave, not to mention I love what I do and feel like I have lots more to accomplish. And it's not like I'm asking for $50k, I'm asking for <$5k...
I appreciate your answers! I feel a lot better knowing that other UXers out there have experienced this.
