I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.
Thank you Global Entry.

We have money. They are just fucking with you.
Tell them, you believe market salary for someone with my role, experience and location is this. I have based the figure on online research, glassdoor, friends in similar roles, etc.
Not trying to bash EY here but this is literally the ONLY time I've heard someone "enjoying the process" there. Perhaps their experienced hire recruiting team has gotten their shit together?
1) State clearly what you are looking for and why
2) Do it by phone or in person - not email
Don't come to EY.
Thanks everyone! Does anyone know what an EY senior MBA would make? I hear 135k?
@kpmg1 really? Mines been pretty smooth
I went through their campus recruitment for internship and full time. Both times my interview was delayed by 45 minutes. The interviewer asked me just one question and turned it around for me to ask them questions. Absolutely horrible experiences on both occasions. Never looked at EY ever since
I would not recommend my Advisory practice to anyone. I am actively looking for alternatives.
Don't. Go to the other firms.
The key to success at EY is connecting with your teams. If you feel like it is a good fit, explain that you want to accept the offer, but you have a hard time taking $15k below other offers. I came to EY from industry, left for a development opportunity and came back because my industry team could not compare to my EY team. I am enjoying my experience at EY.
^Yes watch out for that at all bg 4. There may be no capability to deliver once you are there selling it.
Just make sure even if you get closer to what you want that you won't continually be shortchanged on comp there compared to your other options
How did you determine market rate?
Go with facts and benchmarks. If they don't match be ready to say no.
Like everything it depends on location and practice
Start by confirming the quality of the mentoring you are going to get and what you need to do in order for that to happen. Then look at non-cash and non base pay benefits such as paternity leave, diversity of the teams, bonus upside, geographic mobility, quality of life there.... then if you think $15k makes the difference, ask for it.
What development opportunity was it? Curious what that means
Chance to bring a new product offering to market. Successfully landed the first client, but the company did not have any professional services in place to deliver.
