Hi Fishes, I got an offer from Infosys and my joining date is on March 1st. . Since my current employer didn't accept my resignation as I was in emergency leave, I will need to serve notice period until April 1st. . Will Infosys postpone my Joining date by a month considering this valid reason. Please share your thoughts to take this decision!!! Thank you in Advance!!Infosys
How do I learn how to interact with clients? Like advice for someone in sell side sales? Anyone know any good books or other resources? I found this video and I want to learn more tips like this: http://www.cnbc.com/2015/01/14/master-class-entertaining-wall-street-clients-commentary.html
Where can one get moving boxes for free?
With that small of a difference, I’d just stay fed unless you have the work ethic and drive to progress your career significantly. I wouldn’t do it just for the money if it’s that little of a change. Fed life is chill
10 hrs a week? I was offered an Associate position at Booz but having second thoughts due to the fact that I have so much flexibility at my current employer. It doesn't pay nearly as much but I'm never losing sleep or having terrible weekends because I'm dreading Mondays. If I can get flexibility like that at Booz it would be a no brainer.
What are the benefits like? How is their leave? Health insurance costs can add up! Congrats on the offer, but I would look into those areas before making the decision.
@Delottie it doesn’t include 11 holidays so it would be around 30 but my current role is 30 days + 11 holidays as well
I would negotiate. My salary at Booz as an associate was what you got offered 5 years ago. I’m sure the going rate is higher now.
Associate is a level at Booz, not a role. Different job families can pay wildly different salaries.

Take the minor bump now and get a year of consulting experience then go to a competitor for a much bigger leap.
Yeah bah pay is low, good wlb though, insurance might be 350 per month for just you. 700 per month for family. At a competitor you'll make more and they value Booz Allen name on resume
You’re not active service right? These sound like pretty different career paths regardless. You’d probably want to figure out where to take your career over the next 5ish years first before making the change for a 15% bump.
Sounds like Booz would be a good opportunity for you - it could open a few pathways and give you more opportunity for advancement (in addition to the salary increase)
I’d strongly encourage negotiating that. Painting with a broad brush but BAH health benes are just meh. The 401k is a bit better, especially relative to the other big contractors- good luck!
Ah, I stand corrected. Good to know they also have a solid match
Currently GS 13 and about to max out on the steps, got an offer as a contractor for $165k plus benefits and still couldn’t be motivated to take the jump. Fed life is too chill.
I definitely understand! I just don’t have any promotion opportunities until a GS-13 retires and am worried I’ll be stuck as a 12 forever…
I left federal govt service as a low end GS 13 eight years ago for Booz Allen. My total comp has increased over 250% compared to what I was making as a GS and far exceeds the top end of the GS pay scale now.
While my specific situation may be different then most, I will leave this data point for you to ponder should you want to break free from the constraints of the federal pay system. Good luck.
Associate is a level at Booz Allen, not a role. What is the actual position/what is your background? Does the new job advance your career in a meaningful way or is it just more of the same? It’s just as easy to get siloed in a dead-end role as a federal contractor, perhaps easier. Depending on your skillset and YOE it could be a good decision or a bad decision. Can’t say with the amount of information you’ve provided.
