Screw that guy... don’t worry about it OP. Congrats on the offer!

like

They’re just pissed they didn’t make $30k off you. Don’t sweat it.

likehelpful

Why do you care?

likehelpful

Because I want to be aware if some sort of professional line was crossed or if I was actually rude!

OP, sounds like you were as transparent as one should be in this process, and that recruiter is just unprofessional. I don’t think you should feel bad or guilty.

like

Not your fault. You were transparent and clearly not taking him for a ride

like

Do you think he’s right? I had open communication with other companies if I had a shift in my timelines. Also most of the other companies I was still talking to were for resume screens and initial HR phone calls

Thanks guys!

Hey Everyone!
I’m coming up on one year of working in consulting post under grad in a financial services vertical. I know I want to transition to corporate strategy down the road, but don’t have much interest in financial service strategy. Should I try and switch into a more applicable practice such as M&A or operations? Will I be able to break into corporate strategy without any past experience in that industry? I want to avoid getting pigeonholed into FS, but with COVID, don’t want to leave.
