Flip your mindset about the whole recruiting process. Think of the interview as an opportunity to see if CapitalOne is the right company for YOU. Ask questions that will help you to make that assessment.
Case interviews can be triggers for nervousness no matter how good you are at developing frameworks and cracking cases on your own time.
I do think you have to be a certain kind of person who has learned to tolerate having people look over your shoulder about everything in order to do well in that format.
With that said, it’s okay to feel how you’re feeling. You should relax for a bit, take a step back, and practice telling stories. I’m sure you’re smart enough to solve the problem, but you probably just need some time to structure the thing.
There’s an entire bowl dedicated to helping people with case interviews, do leverage that and find a partner to practice with.
Just went through the process for capital one. I 100% recommend watching the videos and doing the practice case they provide online. It wont solve the nerves, but its a very accurate representation of what the case will be like. Maybe have a friend deliver the online case to you? Anything to help mentally prepare you.
But also, yes. Casing can be very stressful. You are not alone. But you can do it!!!
I am the same way OP. Case interviews have always made me super anxious and is part of the reason I’ve shied away from certain types of opportunities. I think part of it is the fear that I will mess up and I probably fixate on that too much. I would def say practice as much as you can (and with other people). At first it might be rough and it might feel uncomfortable at first, but the more you practice the better you will get and the more confident you will be. You can do this!!
