Better now then a month from now. That’s what happened to me 🤷♂️
It seems plausible to bring up this bait and switch, when re applying. But note, the other firm also probably has some bait and switch type tactics
There’s no “offer” anymore once you decided and communicated the reject. Is this even an option? They could have offered to someone else already. Don’t switch until you confirm there’s still an “offer” to accept.
I’m not HR but it does not bother me. However, I may be worried you will change again. You only get one shot to switch. I will not be so kind if you do it again.
So in Parks & Rec... it didn’t matter how many times Ben changed his mind on that poor accounting firm, they will always welcome him back with open arms. From this example we glean the truth that you can do anything you want and everyone will always love you.
What are the specific reasons you’re regretting your decision? To me that’s the most important question. I’d be very hesitant to go back on my “word” so to speak, but if there are legitimate reasons then maybe I’d consider it. You can always work at the one firm for 2ish years and then switch. Big4 are always stealing from each other.
Grass is always greener.. either way you are gonna work 80 hour weeks and get more or less screwed. Same circus different clowns. My advice is not to worry about it
Your guy said the 1st firm. Don't go back on your word
Just ask - what do you have to lose?
I appreciate all the feedback guys. I can’t quite elaborate much more because it’s a very specific situation and it would become clear who “Manager OP” is. I’m going to start the conversation back up with the other firm and just see where it goes.
