How do I learn how to interact with clients? Like advice for someone in sell side sales? Anyone know any good books or other resources? I found this video and I want to learn more tips like this: http://www.cnbc.com/2015/01/14/master-class-entertaining-wall-street-clients-commentary.html
Best group in IB for hedge fund recruiting?

Grant Thorton has a better culture. BDO/ RSM are in this weird area/ culture where they want to grow quickly to catch up to the Big 4 :. I.e; they expect Big 4 hours/ grind culture for less pay and prestige than big 4.
I worked at RSM and EY. RSM was a sweat shop, they wanted EY quality with 1/2 the resources. I went back to EY after a year. They actively promote in their advertising they are the middle market leader, stop lying RSM.
Gonna give you the only really answer. Both firms are basically the same, and your experience will 99% depend on your clients and team (nothing else). So go wherever you felt like you meshed with the interviewers better.
Agree
GT culture is awesome. Always got a weird vibe from BDO. Yea they may have higher revenue but the reputation is the same and who cares about revenue when you’re not a partner.
Thank you for the help everyone! I ultimately decided to go with GT
Nice! What region?
Currently at GT. I am very happy here. I had a friend leave GT to go to BDO and left after 4 months because of the culture. Just my $0.02
BDO. They don’t have “unlimited” PTO. So you’ll be able to argue that you need to take some in order to not lose any. You may also get a payout when you eventually leave. People with “unlimited” PTO usually end up taking less.
I work at GT and have taken 5+ weeks every year. So have most of my colleagues
I like the culture at GT
Go to GT because I work at bdo and I know things.
Bdo. Better rep.
I’m not in the same field but just had a friend leave BDO for GT. Says he’s much happier w the wlb & culture
GPS or Commercial?
It depends what you value most - BDO is more fast-paced, less work life balance, but more rigorous experience. If balance and culture are more important to you, you'll likely be happier at GT.
Which sector of GT?
Both are for Risk Advisory
Interviewed at BDO and it just didn’t seem like a good vibe. Granted I was in a different role than you that I was interviewing for. So take that with a grain of salt.
Does either company have a better benefits package - better health insurance options, higher 401k matching? I think GT has slightly better WLB, culture - but this might be dependent on the specific team and office.
BDO for sure. Better wlb, culture and pay. But your work depends on your role as well.
Congratulations!
Thank you!
It so depends on teams. My hours during busy season is 45 whist my friend has 60 at GT.
BUSY SEASON -DRINK!
BDO. Been in that practice at each and happy to discuss.
