Ladies, how do you prep before joining a leadership role in big tech? How are you beating that imposter syndrome?

Need some career advice- got a job offer, in industry, huge pay raise. Most of the job description is in line with what I want. Issue is, I’m not excited about. I love working from home but this group is in the office and wfh is not an option (unless there’s a reason, contractors, etc. at home). Been dreading my role in PA for years now and have been actively looking/interviewing but have turned down all offers for one reason or another. Pros/cons I should be considering?

Need to vent. I have been interviewing candidates for a role on my team and finally found a candidate I want to hire. It’s been 7 months of interviewing and I was very excited to have him on board. This candidate just so happens to be Asian. A week after I submitted my feedback - heard back from the hiring committee that the packet was rejected and asked me to re-interview an URM candidate who has the lowest average interview score on my list. Now I have to restart the whole process for D&I😞

Have any of you had trouble getting interviews at startups due to them wanting more startup experience? I've worked on many greenfield projects for clients and more mature projects, so I'm not sure why I wouldn't be a good candidate. The funny thing is when you look at the bios for some of these founders and see just how inexperienced many of them are. One's bio was basically the list of clubs he belonged to in college.

How do you know if public accounting is for you in the long run? I don’t like busy season but really enjoy the client aspect, developing others and selling services.

How do you think that news outlets/pubs should gate their content? I get so annoyed when I can't read an article about important news, but I understand that they have to make money to survive. There are some that made all COVID related articles available to anyone, but should other things fall under that? Is it just me who finds that it gets into a grey area in terms of journalism and accesibility of information?
