Recent grad hoping to switch to a big 4 firm. Undergrad recruiting went real shitty and I was wondering if experienced hire recruiting in general is as competitive?

Why do you want to work in big 4 consulting? Please don’t say it looks good on a resume. Whenever I hear a person say it makes me want to throw them off a building.

like

Tbh, the firm I'm at is very unstable and i was hoping big 4 would have more projects and opportunities i cant get at my current firm.

Much easier hiring process for experienced hires

like

Also as cheesy as it sounds, the culture at my firm is pretty bad and I've heard better things for the most part at the big 4

like

Yup. I really like it at EY!

@pwc2 thank you for the advice. I didn't get any interviews at the big 4 before but i think it was probably due to my gpa (I had a 3.2 at the time. Now I have a 3.4 but I hope gpa holds less importance now as a experienced hire). I also went to a T15 university. Right now, im a consultant for a firm that seems to be going downhill (another reason for me to leave)

like

Agreed. Why Big 4 and do you have any internships?

Sounds like you’ve done some research. I have loved my experience at 2 big 4. Agreed on the variety of projects but ultimately the culture will depend on your group. Based on the resumes I’ve seen, the process for experience hires is equally competitive but sounds like you have a good background.

like

@Ey1 of course but honestly, anything is better than the firm in right now. No one is happy and everyone is just scared theyll be fired next

Which firm OP ?

@EY2 IBM

@OP Out of curiosity, what group do you work in at ibm? I have ~2 yrs experience and applying to IBM GBS but your comments on culture and instability there are interesting.

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

Working 9am - 3am consistently? 3) what exit opportunities exit after the Big 4 experience? 4) how does Compensationfor HCOL seniors/ manager look this year?
