I have been using Wealthfront to manage roughly 30% of my investments. Not very happy with it’s allocations (I want less international and resources exposure), and looking to get a bit more control, with the continued benefits of automated rebalancing and tax loss harvesting. What are my best options? And what is the best way of transferring?
Got a job offer at Deloitte for manager level. Looking for a summary of benefits. I know 401k match but is there a waiting period, do you have something like pwc’s wealth builder. What is parental leave? What is the phone benefit? (Pwc subsidizes phone and pays plan). Health insurance I assume is crap but who is it through? Any random benefits that stick out to you that other firms might not have?
put 6K into my roth IRA, just want to dump it into a few ETFs and forget about it until i’m old and wrinkly - what should i go with? VOO? QQQ? thank you in advance for helping me retire!!
Anyone ever used the Warton Group? Their marketing emails say they have preset appointments with 401k plan sponsors that are shopping their plan. The advisor is charged for the contacts. 1/2
For people here making less than 100K who max out their 401K / HSA, can I have a conversation with you about your taxes paid ? Is it significantly less or is your take home significantly less ? Trying to assess the financial impact to my take home if I max out my 401K. Ty!
Regarding retirement, the way I understood it the ideal was: 1. 401k match 2. Roth IRA 3. Max 401k 4. Other accounts (eg. HSA if you are elegible, potentially 529 for your kids, otherwise just investing in stuff) Is that right or am I forgetting something?
I’m leaving from 1 firm to another. Can anyone provide guidance on how to handle the 401k? Do I just do that directly with Charles Schwab?
Hey I’m looking at KPMG for their senior associate, federal healthcare policy. I was wondering if anyone here works or has worked for them and what your experience is/was?
Hey all I need help. Is this health insurance good? Hard to compare online: NYC, single, PPO, Cigna, $528/month, $20/copay for appointments, no referrals, $5k deductible, 7k max out of pocket.
Best places to retire? Suggestions.
McKinsey thoughts on your Life Sciences/healthcare sector. Is ideal for someone with a clinical background? Biomedical opportunities? Also any other firms have a growing practice in this area? Thanks
Ladies, I recently left consulting for a VP level job in industry. I report to another VP so they choose to “withhold that title for my functional title.” Have all the benefits and sig authority....
I’m a lazy investor and don’t want to think about my money, so I invest my Roth IRA and 401K into a Vanguard target fund (2065). Should I be doing more with my money?
For 401k, Deloitte contributes 25 cents for every 1 dollar we contribute. Its matched upto 6% of our salary. How is it other big 4?
Self-directed IRAs. So many questions! Have any of you ever tried a self directed IRA? I’m thinking about it in relation to investing in a company (to the tune of 150-200k) or possibly purchasing a vacation property as an investment in a location we’d like to retire (if I did that, could we use it to vacation personally occasionally in the meantime? Even if we needed to pay the IRA for the rental?) Thoughts? Warnings?
Any ex-EY folks here who did withdraw the pension money? If yes what age were you and how much did they offer?
Fellow immigrants in limbo - is it worth contributing to a 401k account? I am 26, just returned to the US on a L1 (so no green card app for the next year). I’m debating whether I should do 401k or private investments. On a related note, if you have recommendations for financial advisors used to this dilemma in NYC, please send them my way :)

Are they any chances that Capgemini revokes offer letter if I approach them with another offer letter for salary negotiation?
I’m frustrated that I’m always expected to do everything for our LO since I’m working from home. Five days a week, I do all the drop offs and pickups. When the baby is napping, I prep all her bottles and solids to pack with for daycare. Today, on top of everything else I had to take our dog to the vet. My husband hasn’t even offered to do anything because it’s easier for me to do it.
A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?

Is there a conflict of interest if I want to apply for a posting with my client? Currently doing consulting for them but interested in a non-consulting role with their company. Any tips for navigating this—what to do and what not to do to avoid burning bridges…?
Looking at Consulting roles at Avanade - Is associate the lowest level there? What is expected comp for NJ/NY area?
I have two career paths I'm aiming for at the moment, strategy consulting or finance/strategy at a CPG. My end goal has always been to exit to CPG. If I dont land in strategy consulting should I consider tech consulting?
Had a great phone interview with a recruiter a few weeks ago. Said recruiter left and the new one said they were behind in their process but would keep me posted. That was 2 weeks ago. How to proceed?

My mom is going through a very bad situation with her previous employer who is not paying her her correct retirement benefits after screwing up their paperwork. She worked for a school district for about 15 years. She has a case but she is afraid it’s not high value enough to attract the attention of the attorney. School district is now ghosting her. If anyone has advice or interest, please let me know, thanks so much
I was exposed to covid ugh. I have it now don’t I? I’ve been quarantined since exposure and waiting to get tested so I don’t get a false negative
NYC is starting to liven up a bit. It’s good to see so many people out and more bars and restaurants are opening with seats and standing outside. Better times are ahead!
Wow! What a day! Alright Michael Beaton, I made the biggest trade of my life. I moved my entire 401k to a money market fund. Please tell me this market will drop in the near term!
Looking for recommendations on VFX Companies that have strong performance and lifestyle directors for an upcoming production. Would like to try and single source shoot and post. Great client with a healthy budget. Thanks in advance.
Reposting - Deloitte 🐠 Is the 2 year sign-on bonus clause standard (need to pay back 100% if you leave before 1 year, 50% if you leave before 2 years)? Anyone successfully remove this or reduce to 1 year?
