Those weren’t layoffs. Those were standard attrition. Deloitte has 415,000 employees. They lose this many people every day.
People confuse “layoff” with being fired
I disagree. The firm miscalculated the economic recovery and stimulus, and eventually started reaching back out to same folks but had to pay more.
It’s not that they have to tell you you’re being laid off. They have to file that they’re planning to do layoffs
Deloitte provided severance/continuation of pay
Some doesn’t matter, all need to have the basis or minimum.

Deloitte did not have layoffs, just normal low performer shedding. 500 people is .2% of the workforce, so I don’t think that is accurate. Usually firms let the bottom 5% go every year (down from the 15% Jack Welch-ian standard.)
They were definitely layoffs. Due to Covid 19 pandemic was directly mentioned.
They pinned everything on Covid 19 and did it in June, whereas usually this tends to happen later in the year.
