Recent layoff news and information about a Federal warn law that applies to large employers has me questioning how Deloitte handled Covid related layoffs in the summer of 2020.

Deloitte certainly laid off more than 500 employees, yet many responses as we saw on Reddit and fishbowl indicated 4-6 weeks of severance. Is the Federal warn with a minimum notice of 60 days or equivalent severance something that recently became law? I’m curious, and wondering how Deloitte dodged it.

Hi everyone! Idk if I need advice or I’m venting but I’ve been looking for jobs actively right now and want to make a switch soon. There’s a gap in terms or compensation for the jobs I’m being approached for. These jobs offer the same compensation I’m at or slightly higher (5-7%). This is demotivating and I honestly don’t know what to do. I don’t make an awful lot (105K in NYC) and I’m looking for a 20-30% bump in terms of compensation. Am I crazy here?
