Will this have any effect on exit ops (other PE roles or B-school)? I.e., in PE, do different offices carry varying levels of prestige like they do in banking or consulting?

How do folks feel about the idea to have real feedback from their reporting chain at current company/previous companies. Feedback that would at some level allow focus points on things a person is great at as well as improvements for career progression. Maybe at some point even help with hiring! Want POV from managers as well as reports on whether or not such feedback would be useful, downside to getting such feedback! Appreciate the input

I'm a 3rd-year corporate transactional attorney with a private firm. Around 50 attorneys, which is as big as it gets for the state I'm in. I've become disillusioned with the partnership track career path fairly quickly and don't think it's for me. Before taking a large pivot and leaving the law entirety, I've thought about going in-house.
(1) Are there any downsides to going in-house too early?
(2) Would it make it more difficult to go back to private practice if I don't like that experience?

Thoughts on CAIA? Difficulty, hours studied, study tips, overall experiences, etc.? I’ll be sitting for Level 1 in September. So here's where I'm at....I have a job that's VERY stable but a manager that well, manages poorly. I interned as an investment associate at a DFI a few years back before joining consulting and really loved it. I know an internship isn’t the same as an FT role but I am interested in investing. I will appreciate if anyone here can share some words of wisdom. YoE - 6.5years, Strategy and Operations, MBA(non-target school)

I’m sure it’ll vary depending on the specific terms of the agreement and ethos of the fund, but generally / anecdotally what would cost you to lose a VESTED carry? E.g. what if you leave to a competitor even when respecting the gardening leave / non poaching etc? What if you are let go for underperformance (but haven’t breached any rules / done anything unethical etc). Or what if you’re let go simply due to eg the fund reducing headcount or your team?
