Recently diagnosed with Cyclothymia by a psychiatrist. My therapist suspects I have bipolar 2.

Was prescribed Lamictal, and I’m hesitant to take medication. Should I get an MD second opinion on diagnosis? Anyone gone through a similar experience have advice to share?

I would not trust an MD over a psychiatrist in this situation. If you want a second opinion, I would suggest a different psychiatrist.

I have bp1 and am on lamictal. What are the reasons they stated for the diagnosis? Side effects vary by the person and dosage. I’m on a relatively lower dose and never had side effects other than feeling dehydrated. Side effects also get better over time.

I’ve been in a pretty dark place for the past week or so. The structure of my day-to-day helps me to compartmentalize and prioritize my tasks over dwelling on my thoughts, but it’s still really hard to give a shit about anything that I’m doing. Anyone have any tips in navigating this?

(For background: I’m diagnosed bipolar and medicated, and have been in touch w my therapist about this already. Just curious to see if anyone else is relating at the moment so I feel less alone, and to see if anyone has any coping mechanisms I might not have tried yet)

Thx 🐠🐟🐡😘

Hello TCsers! It's been a year since I joined and currently I'm working for a hectic project 🥲. My mental health is not stable, depressed day by day due to the pressure. I've asked my manager multiple times regarding release and spoken to the HR as well.

Everytime I get 1 answer I.e. you'll have to complete "atleast 1 year" in this project. I had joined the project in March 21. Any suggestions? Please help me out.

I’ve had back pain, either in lower back or sciatic nerve for the past 8 months. I got released from physical therapy around the holidays because I was making improvements and wasn’t in pain. However, since returning to work and working busy season hours it’s difficult to stay seated for most of the day. I bought a standing desk, but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I need to make some serious changes as I’m 27 and should not have this much back pain so young 😢

I’m 31yrs old and husband is 33yrs old, his motility and sperm count is too low, all my results are normal. so we decided to go with IUI first and see and then try for IVF as I cannot afford IVF, my insurance is not covering for treatments. I was taking letrozole And ovidural injection(only one injection), and got ready for this cycle, but unfortunately when the sperm was washed his motility 2.5 and our doctor at CCRM suggested not to go, as count is too low and it doesn’t work.😭. A very important person in my life recently passed. I was named after her, she raised me, we were very close, and I was at her bedside when she passed.

Sensitive question, but when does a mental health challenge become a performance issue?

I’ve suffered from anxiety and depression so I’m not unsympathetic and recently restarted therapy for myself and have a colleague with anxiety issues who’s become difficult to work with. People have raised the issue but they refuse to get treatment and there’s been no consistent improvement after more than a year. It’s becoming a real issue with multiple people.

Curious if others have any ideas here.

The best thing for my anxiety and depression has been admitting to myself I despise my job and career, and likely the corporate world, and that attempting to continue climbing the ladder was causing pretty much all my mental turmoil. Moving up the ladder is a fools errand. Every day my mind was fighting me for trying to get promoted because I knew it was meaningless. So with that said, mental health has been best it’s been in a long time. For anyone else in a similar boat, hope it helps.
