Recently graduated from MSU with a degree in finance and I’m currently working in an insurance based role as an account rep. I’ve been here I feel like I’m wasting my potential working in this industry and I feel I would I better value my position if I was using my degree in a related industry. Any advice?!
Recently I looked at a couple consulting positions at that seem interesting to me

If you've got a finance degree, then I would suggest applying to those industry jobs you feel are interesting and that you'd be qualified for. I'm sure you've gained some experience and skills in your current job that would transfer nicely to a finance role. Make sure to update your resume to reflect these transferable skills. Good luck!

If you still need help getting some advice, you can seek help at Refermarket - https://bit.ly/rfrmrkt-CareerServices

Apply apply apply! You don't decide if it works or not - your role is to put yourself out there! Might be worth doing some LinkedIn outreach as well to see if you find some good contacts or connections

I'm currently a recruiter, with an HR background looking to make a slight career pivot. As an introvert, the recruitment aspect has been draining however, I do enjoy the non-phone screen aspects of it. I enjoy consulting with managers and looking at comp, internal equity and providing data to my hiring managers. I would love to know if there is anyone that has done a similar pivot (whether it's recruiter, HR generalist, etc.) to a Comp Analyst and what that transition has been like.

Hey everyone, I accepted a full time position at EY in assurance, but I am worried about the work life balance. I have a lot of interest in consulting, but in this economy I feel like it would be hard to switch. Should I stick with audit in the short run, or should I try to switch immediately, because of the connections I could lose/make? And or the hours and pay a lot better?

So I have an offer from both EY for Tech Consulting - Cybersecurity and Booz Allen Hamilton for Commercial Cyber Consultant.

While EY pays about 12k more, I’m concerned about my WLB. Booz Allen Hamilton seems great, but the slightly lower pay and smaller commercial practice makes me slightly concerned for my future career opportunities if I decide to leave.

Not sure what to pick and I’d love to hear how your experience has been in the cyber practice at Booz Allen Hamilton & EY
