Honestly the best for me I’ve found is wearing sunscreen every day (pay for a good one) and generally being slightly healthier - drink less alcohol and more water, exercise, meditate/reduce stress, try to sleep more, eat more fruits and vegetables and less processed food.
Lots of the fancy skincare routines didn’t do much for me and sometimes I think made my skin worse
I like Dr. Jart’s Every Sun Day. It’s lemon scented so very pleasant to use! I have to use a mineral sunscreen or I break out.
I get Botox twice a year and it’s made a big difference. Otherwise, I just use a good moisturizer. Whenever I’ve tried to get into extensive skincare routines that I see on social media it seems to make my skin worse. I think it’s mostly trial and error to see what works for you.
Exfoliate twice a week and although it sounds cliche….. hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Lots of water and good am/pm moisturizer. OHHHH the Estée Lauder generioux eye cream is A-mayyyy-zing!
Retinol helped me. But it’s still painful to watch these changes.
Retinol, Copper peptides, Vitamin C, SPF every day without fail, lots of water, the occasional facial (more for fun than anything but hey), and intermittent botox (I vacillate between “I love this and it’s worth the money” and “why did I just spend $600 to freeze my forehead”, so I’m not consistent.
Microcurrent!!! The nuface is affordable, has shaved years off my face and gives an instant gratification/long lasting results. Use it every day for 30 days, then 2-3x per week maintenance. Thank me later :)
And yes also do Botox on my forehead twice a year, I stop the microcurrent for a month or so then casually work it back as the Botox starts to fade. Makes the results of Botox (no wrinkles) last 6/7 months instead of 3 even though you may be able to move your forehead again.
My daytime moisturizer has SPF in it - makes it super easy to wear sunscreen every day. And drink more water! I've started making my after-work glasses of white wine into spritzers - it tricks me into drinking more water and I still get my wine!
Invest in good skin care!! Highly recommend Rodan & Fields.
Vit C and tretinoin. If you can afford Botox and laser, go for it.
