Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Once, a M friend said "men are stronger than women, I could dominate you right now" and at the moment I didn't know what to say cause he was in fact bigger and stronger than me. But this is something that bothers me still... I think people in general, regardless of gender, have different abilities and it is not a matter of comparing but rather understanding how best to use them, for yourself and for the society. It pisses me off to know ppl can think like this, and he is actually a good friend
Currently a Senior GL Accountant and my boss asked if a want to pivot to Senior Revenue Accountant to fill someone’s position. What are the pros and cons of moving to the revenue side? I was hired as a client service associate, and had to get the SIE and S7 certifications to secure my employment, been here for a year now and really want to be part of the business aspect. I’ve ended up being stuck at the front answering calls, cleaning up the conference room and babysitting the office while the FAs go on conferences and have big meetings. I really want to be part of it more and have a seat at the table. Any advice for how to take me career development into my own hands?
