Best advice for case prepping in short amount of time. I only have 3-4 weeks to case prep before interviews and need to maximize success in short amount of time.

I started a new job in May. I took a step down from Paralegal to Legal Asst. At my interview I was told that to them the title was interchangeable & I would be doing Paralegal work, especially considering that I knew how to do the heavy Paralegal work. But it’s been 6 months of tedious admin work & when I point out mistakes on pleadings, question case strategy or discovery methods, & suggest more effective ways to get things done, I get these weird looks or the brush off. What can I do?

I’ve been submitting applications because my company has been doing layoffs and pay cuts. I was informed yesterday that they will be doing additional pay cuts starting next week. First my bonus was cut by 60% and now they have mentioned they are going to cancel it altogether. When interviewing for new positions how should I explain why I’m looking for a new job even though I still (at least currently) have a job, just major pay cuts?

I suck at case interviews. :( Engineering undergrad and currently in a tech consulting role. Feel like I lack general business knowledge. Had an interview today for a Strategy position and feeling discouraged. I am great at setting up a framework but I struggle with progressing the case (anticipating what’s next) and the math. I am in tech consulting mostly working on the vendor selection, system and processes assessments, and ERP implementation within FS. I know that comp for pwc A3-SA1 tier 2 geo is 86-95. What about other firms?

How much do you pay for benefits? I am thinking about moving districts but I am not sure what the hidden fees are for their benefits. Wish it was more transparent, I feel like other districts get paid way more but I was wondering if they syphon your money away with health insurance, dental etc.

When writing vision & mission for a team/company/self, what tense is best applicable? Eg Vision: “We are x, y, z; in a, b, c sectors, and achieve d, e, f.” Versus “We want to be/aim to be..”

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

Recruiting business owners, what's the verbiage in your contract re previous knowledge of candidates? Mine says "Once Consultant presents a resume, Client is precluded from claiming previous knowledge of this candidate unless it notifies Consultant of its previous knowledge within 3 business days of Consultant’s referral. “Previous Knowledge” means that the Client can demonstrate that they have had contact with and received the resume of the referred candidate." Client is pushing back on resume.

We are a larger independent agency in several low cost of living markets. Our people are being recruited by agencies in larger, more expensive markets. Anywhere from 30-60k more for low to mid range positions and being told they can WFH permanently. How are you handling hiring WFH positions? Are most of you now hiring all talent to WFH in all states/locations?

Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

Any suggestions on how to continue helping a new employee in our dept when they do not take notes? I am always willing to help, but it is becoming frustrating to constantly go over the same thing. I have expressed that because our dept does so many things that it is good to take notes over the things we are going over. When our MGR was out of town I spent a large amount of time being patient and helping her all throughout the day. It is now taking time from the task that I need to work on.
