I’ve been doing some job “soul searching” that brought some interviews w/interesting companies & exciting opportunities. As it nears an end, I’m reflecting on the concept of some companies unwilling to share feedback if you’re not picked. I understand the reasoning, no one wants to be sued for discrimination. However, I have also encountered companies asking me to expand upon why I didn’t choose them. So I ask: As a professional in this situation, are you willing to expand upon the “why?”

How good are the case studies which are given in the interview? Does the interviewer even ask questions based on what you submit? What’s the level of detail they expect in your response ?

Does anyone at Atlassian (or who knows someone at Atlassian) have news on the hiring slowdown? Any updates on which business units / orgs / positions the company will continue hiring for? What are some of your favorite female forward or girl power causes that you support? Why (and how) do you support them?

I’ll start:
- Girl Scout Troop 6000 - made of girls in NYC homeless shelters. Teaches them life skills and friendship. I donate money and direct people to get cookies.
- Dress for Success - helps women dress and prepare for returning to the workforce. They do resume reviews, interview prep, job placements while helping women with professional wardrobes. Cash/clothes donated.

Im in niche practice area at Big4 (2 YOE)x of which law firms have the practice group. I’m in my late 20s, no kids, not married, significant student debt. The WLB I’ve had is fantastic, and most of my friends are miserable in BigLaw. But obviously the money coming with a lateral opportunity is staring at me, and given my student debt and no family of my own, perhaps it’s worth. Among the money move and grinding out and coming back to Big4 at higher level later? Any insight is appreciated. TIA!

I don’t know if I can do this anymore. Was an auditor for 3.5 years, then the travel got real old, but I didn’t want to leave so I went for a tax position in my group. Been in tax for 2 years and most days I question how anyone could find this interesting.
