Joined a new company as well, everything has been smooth so far, IT has been very responsive but it’s hard for them to get some things done remotely, just be patient. Feeling blessed for getting a job in the current state of the world.

Yeah I would assume IT would have some difficulties with the on-going requests that they currently have before the whole WFH status erupted. Absolutely, feeling blessed to actually get hired with everything going on. To be totally honest, I was afraid they would have rescinded the offer or at least pushed it back several months ...

I also started a new job working remotely. IT has been very fast responding to my issues. Lots of phone calls and screen sharing for training. I’m 3 weeks in and don’t have a lot to do still which makes me nervous... I think it would have been easier to do all this in the office but it hasn’t been bad so far

Yeah luckily I have people checking in on me every few days and my manager has explicitly told me he doesn’t really expect much from me right now but I hate sitting around bored...especially with an uncertain economy I want to be able to add value and prove my worth. I’ve spent a lot of tome just digging through files and making notes for myself so when I do start having more to do I have a better understanding of things. Hope your job picks up more soon!

How did they get you your laptop, etc ?

SA1, my b. It was through UPS, my previous firm sent me a box with a bunch of bubble wrap to send my laptop back to them through FedEx ... hopefully it showed up in one piece.

Best Immigration law firm in NYC?

I’m an immigrant with H1B. Been wanting to get out of my firm so badly but every time I apply outside, I start getting dragged into work at my current firm.I was going through some pretty rigorous interviews (I failed them) and have been in a slump since. Meanwhile my current firm keeps dumping work on me and I can’t find the time to apply outside. Anyone been through something similar? I’m losing hope. The politics is also so toxic, they started screwing me over since my last performance review.
