How much yearly hike can one expect at Société Générale ?
"Depends on performance" seems to be a very vague answer.
Can someone please elaborate on a better answer.
Also, Can someone shed some light on promotions?
Is there any policy, like you have to work for X years to be eligible for promotion etc.
Thanks in advance.

Say your salary, but that you're flexible, if you are.

If you don’t want to risk your application being tossed, be negotiable even if you have a firm number in mind. You don’t know if the person handling applications has been instructed to only pull apps with a certain range or flexibility listed.
The “first offer” strategy is only 1/3 true depending on your goals. Another 1/3 is the above — setting an offer or range that keeps you at the negotiation table. Last 1/3 is a strategy of offering the first number to set a range in the mind of the offeree when at the table. For example, if someone says $75K, there’s more of a chance of negotiations staying in a range where $75K usually is or is close to median.

Never give a range. You will anchor on the high end, they will anchir on the low end. Ask for "market" and say a not less than number.
