Alvarez & Marsal How does comp work at Alvarez & Marsal? I know bonus is based on utilization / collections, but how does that really work when you're executing against a SOW with a certain amount of hours budgeted. If I'm only budgeted at 70%, how do you increase your utilization to increase your bonus.

I've been working in HR operations for the past 3 years. Total work experience being 3.10 years. My current CTC is 6 LPA. I'm looking to change companies and want to get into a decent MNC. Will I be able to get a 70-80% hike taking into consideration my experience matches the profile?
Any advice on which profiles and companies to apply for? And any advice on how to grab a job at Amazon for the same would be perfect.

The feeling that you were doing anything meaningful in your previous agency life is something I simply don’t agree with.

It took me six months to learn the IBM way of doing things. Also, there are plenty of days I only have 2 hours of work.
If you feel under utilized look for ways you can add value to the team by improving processes, building cross functional relationships, and taking on new moonshot projects. I’m probably not telling you anything you don’t already know, but it’s just a different way of working.
You need to self-direct.
Following as I’ve recently made the switch to Brand Side and feel very much the same.
I think it could be a mix of finding your stride in this new role, as head of brand and your own internal agency of sorts. Having had similar roles at multiple startups I think another contributor may also be the company itself because I have found that there are internal perceptions of your role and responsibilities sometimes already embedded into the company that can be very hard to unearth and navigate around (especially if working completely or partially remote). Coming from agency side we know know to identify weak points and creative solutions the minute we walk into a… slack channel and dig around google drive. It’s the lack of structure, acknowledgement and authority given to you that leaves you adrift. That’s what an agency immediately gives you, but it’s not unattainable without one. I know because I’m in a swirl currently having started remote at a new gig and preciously had many great in-house experiences that just weren’t a great fit!
Work at a startup and you won’t feel like this. That’s how I felt at every corporate job I had.
