Recently returned from 12 week parental leave. My group respected the time and I received one or two non-urgent emails. It helped immensely with bringing home baby number two and integrating her to our family (also have a toddler), and it took an insane amount of stress off my partner who needed a lot of recovery time, and who also works but has a less flexible job.

Long story short, I’m die hard loyal to my colleagues and my firm after this and hope it becomes standard in our profession.

Frustrated my fiancé keeps talking about raising our future kids in the way he was raised. We’re from different cultures. He wants to name them based on his culture, send them to schools with dual immersion in his language so “they don’t get too American,” and has even mentioned moving so they’re exposed to his homeland and culture. Religiously he is fine raising with both our relig but def wants them to participate in some of the orthodoxy of his more so (cont)
