Recently started seeing someone and everything is going great. He is very proactive about planning dates, spending time togetherand doing nice things for me. The only thing is he doesn’t reach out between dates as much as I would like. ie. sometimes I would like to text back and forth or have a phone call for no reason. It doesn’t seem to come naturally to him. I don’t know if I should ask for more because if it’s not in his nature, I don’t want to put pressure and not sure it would make a diff?

Disclaimer: based on my experience

If it’s not in his nature, it won’t stick even if you say something. He might become conscious of it and put in extra effort but some people just prefer in person interaction. I guess ask yourself if this is a deal breaker?

My partner of 6 years still ignores 50% of my texts and he keeps telling me he knows it and he tries to work on it. I think there’s a lot of people that are just not great at keep the conversion over text/phone

Just start texting him more often and see how he responds.

Wow literally in the same position! I gave him a text 2 days after our date. Then I gave him a call a week after during which he set up another date. However, it seems like I am doing more of the communicating in between then him. Im not sure if I should say something. He used to call me randomly when we were just friends but then he stopped :/ idk what’s up

Update: he doesn’t call me because he doesn’t have feelings for me (he told me he doesn’t) I think a lot of guys are like this: they are interested but they don’t have feelings therefore they don’t call/ text because you are not on their mind when you are not in their presence. Not true in all circumstances cause a guy could have no feelings and still call/text a bunch. I would make sure before you catch feelings

He might be seeing other people too

I don’t think this is anything to worry about. It’s all about communication styles. Some people like to text every single day and some people don’t. I personally don’t care if we text in between dates and I think if you brought it up to him he probably wouldn’t be receptive tbh because it’s just not his style (especially if you only been on a few dates he may honestly think it’s weird/controlling to bring up). I would say pay attention to the time he spends with you and his commitment to you and if you keep hanging and things seem like they are progressing then that’s what matters🤷‍♀️then you can start to talk abkut communication styles and your needs in a relationship if it’s going in the direction, but if it’s not he may just be looking for something casual

Bring it up on the date. "I really enjoy our dates. I like to chat a bit more in between them. Is that something you do?"

In the conversation listen for things like changes due to covid, work, or just communication styles. It's not something I would push, but you should get an understanding.

Is it realistic to have a decent WLB if you’re a parent and working in MBB/T2 in Dubai? Is it guaranteed that you’d be travelling Monday-Thursday? Currently, I have a decent WLB in London but money is very attractive in Dubai but don’t want to miss my child growing up if I’m expected to not be home >80% of the time.
Any parents working in Dubai MBB/T2 have an answer?

Always thought I would be with a NYC guy on fun, fancy dates in my future. Realizing now that everyone wants casual there, and in my hometown (here for covid), I make significantly more than most guys I go on dates with, many haven’t gone to college, but we have more similar interests and they are interested in a serious relationship. It feels like I’m settling and I’m so jealous of the people who do have the fun, exciting life in the city I dream of.
