Feeling a bit lost on where to go next. Currently early 30s and 3 years post-MBA as a Big4 Manager. Currently in healthcare but not really interested in staying in healthcare or consulting. Well, our district found a COVID loophole and are exploiting it. They get to determine whether or not we are considered a “close contact” or not with a positive student. And because they told us to “never be within 6’ of a student for 15 minutes or longer” (in a tiny classroom with 28 JH students), they’re justifying that if we test positive “despite their efforts”, it’s on us, not the district, so they won’t cover any medical costs or give us the Covid days off. Talk about feeling expendable.

what are the pros / cons to being “counseled out” after being on the bench for too long? Is there a severance package? Does it affect your track record with the former and new employer?
Do any of the top consulting firms hire into the Engagement Manager level after an M7 (if they had manager experience elsewhere)? I know MBB probably doesn’t but what about other tier 2 firms after that - and asking for US or Canada
