Recommendations for expense tracking app? I am using Mint but it doesn't give me the option to break it down by month and categories. The budget function doesn't always work for me since there are always categories I didn't account for (e.g. amazon purchases, pet stuff, etc)

YNAB is an absolute gem - seriously valuable visibility into spending. Happy to refer for a 34 day trial.

You can reflag categories. I have “shopping” that captures all Amazon, etc. or you can recategorize to home, etc. as needed. They’ll all have a bit of manual maintenance for transaction flagging.

Personal capital for sure. Feel free to DM for a referral and we both get $20.

Tracks net worth and expenses (breakdown by category). Also you can compare your investments to different indexes like SP500, US market, international. Some other features like light budgeting and other things I haven't gotten around to looking at. Works well for me. Feel free to DM if interested.

How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation?
My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

Curious what others risk tolerance / budget is for primary housing expense. Currently looking at houses and what I ‘can’ afford according to the math feels like way more house than I ‘should’ buy. For reference I’m a B4 7th yr partner. Last year total comp was around $1.8 and total other monthly fixed expenses are in the $20k/mo neighborhood. Just wondering how others approach this. Thanks.
