It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).

How in shape are your abs? How tight are your hamstrings?
I had really bad lower back pain for years and doctors / PTs told me it was a result of wrestling / judo / jiu jitsu injuries. My dad has terrible lower back pain and I figured I was as doomed as he was. Then I thought about it and my back (when not injured) felt mostly fine when I was competing. But then I had rock solid abs and stretched frequently.
I went back to doing hard ab work outs and spending a few minutes a day on my hamstrings / lower back stretching and my back has felt great for years.
It has made such a difference for me. I went to the chiro regularly, had muscle relaxants, physical therapy, lumbar pads, etc., and those provided some relief. But nothing has worked like getting my abs in shape and keeping my hamstrings loose.

For ab work all you need is an open spot of floor. Flutter kicks, crunches, planks, bridges, etc.
Try to include walks in your routine. Also, take breaks every hour (sounds insane, but your back will thank you for it.) Just sit up straight, walk for 3-4 mins, do light stretches and get back to work.
It will help.
Thanks, I’ll try to set some kind of reminder to do this.
Get a lacrosse ball or pressure point ball and incorporate deep tissue release in your routine. Specifically low back, hips, butt, hamstring
I suffered with it a few times. Physical therapy routines that were mostly yoga/pilates based saved me. Strong core = less sore.
Hot yoga and chiropractor were best things for my lower back. At least incorporate daily stretching
Been in PT for lower back / sciatic pain and found a lot of improvement with core strengthening and “multifidus” exercises such as planks, bird dogs, glute bridges. And I basically dont sit much at all these days. Walking helps too even if it takes me a bit to get going because im stiff. Also, put a pillo between knees when you sleep.

I got one of those Purple seat cushions to use while sitting
Thanks for your feedback. Appreciate it.

Don't sleep on your stomach
I don’t, side sleeper here.
Do you do any stretches? There are several yoga type stretches that help. How about a foam roller? I find that to be very helpful. A heating pad in the lower back can help. I also like those personal massage guns. Standing alone is not going to help much.
Good ideas. Thank you. Will try to use the foam roller more often.
Epidural shot worked for me 💀
Strengthen your hamstrings and do unilateral exercises.
Chiropractor, fixed my sciatic pain in like a month.
