I had this concern too when I went to MX. If you don’t have the virus before you board the plane, the likelihood that you’ll get it and test positive in a matter of days is kind of low given the incubation period. That said, try St. John, it’s a really beautiful island. I thought the USVI req’d testing before you come though.

like

Yeah…this is a dream job and I don’t want to risk it. Maybe St John!

Considering Puerto Rico, USVI, which are US territories and don’t have the same testing reqs

I had the same concerns this year. But honestly, I feel like Europe is fine. Just got back from Germany/Austria/Switzerland, it's beautiful. If you worry about not within U.S. territory, maybe try Hawaii. It's safe and so many islands.

“It’s fine” is such a silly thing to say. You really can’t control your environment and who you’re around when traveling and there is a chance you could get and test positive for covid. I’m glad you were fine but lots of other ppl test positive and get stuck, despite their best efforts. Would you really want to miss the first 2 weeks of a new job for that? Not exactly the best impression to start off on.

Santa Fe, New Mexico. Just got back from there and they’re really good about mask wearing. There’s lots of art (canyon road, meow wolf, Georgia O’Keefe museum) and then there are opportunities to go hiking a bit too. I also traveled solo and hired a hiking guide for a day if you want his info. Plus, the food is amazing.

Oh this could be good!! Haven’t been to this part of the country at all, thanks
