Recommendations for virtual receptionists?
I tried POSH bc of price and they were awful. Really trying to avoid trying all the players in the market.

I hired a highly rated independent one through Upwork. Wound up making her my virtual assistant as well. It's all going great. Be picky and of course willing to pay for the best-rated people on there.

That’s great. How much per hour? / how many hours do use her a month?

We just signed up for smith ai for their low package $215/month. However I like that upwork idea, above.

Additional Posts in Small Law / Solos

I believe improving one’s sales conversion rate is something everyone want to improve but no one wants to admit they would like to work it. Funny how lawyers will spend thousands on seminars to improve trial skills. But this topic is not discussed in our profession. I have read books in sales. But am unable to find any for lawyers. I want convert every lead I can. Does anyone have tips, books, cle’s or studied this topic?

I need some words of wisdom from this esteemed bowl. I have been an associate for almost 2 years in civil litigation with my bread and butter being family and marital law. I have the drive and desire to operate a solo practice with an emphasis on family law as that is my most comfortable area. I've been loved by all my clients and believe I have the charisma to attract new ones. It's not a matter of if I'll go solo but when. Any advice and/or potential pitfalls of going solo so soon?

Venting… I had a PC reach out last week for services (commercial real estate) who proceeded to tell me that their project is going to make me the “gold standard” , so rich and etc. further they wanted me to send them a plan of everything needed for all the phases of development and an estimated cost. The call completely drained me and rubbed me the wrong way. Then they brought up my age and me being younger, saying it’s an opportunity of a life time. It felt extremely condescending.

I was fired for missing deadlines for 1. A response to a motion that hadn’t been filed (still hasn’t) 2. Writing a difficult petition in 24 hours after another associate took 6 days to submit a blank form. Both times deadline was missed by less than 2 hours, while hospitalized (I have a disability). He knew of the hospitalization and said “he didn’t care about the reason I needed more time.” He came to my hospital room to get the company computer and no other attorney was fired. Is this fair?
