Pinterest, agreed. I'm not getting married anytime soon (not engaged and don't intend to for another few years), but I still have a Pinterest to alleviate the pressure of making impulsive decisions when the time comes.
Pinterest. Find common themes of what you like. Straps, silhouettes, color, lace/beading. There are many pictures that show best silhouettes for your body type
I found a little recycled dress boutique near me who gave me advice on best dresses for my size/shape and just let me try on a million- most useful for me
I tackled it by going to a store with big selection and tried on all different silhouettes. I was dead set on a style before I went, but after trying more on, I changed my mind completely. After that, go on Pinterest and search for the few things you liked! Don’t forget to consider venue, weather, and time of day when picking!
What body shape are you? Focus on looking at styles that flatter your figure. Then go into stores and try on a bunch of styles they have.
All of those Pinterest charts don’t describe my body shape. I’m athletically built (broad shoulders, did gymnastics for a decade), but have a bit of a belly now :/ have such a hard time finding things that don’t make me look like a box or look fat
I would also recommend flipping through wedding magazines and looking up celebrities who have a similar body shape. Serena Williams has an athletic body and is not thin. She looked amazing.
