Best suitcase or travel bag and why... GO!
I love going to the beach in Mataró - has a trendy but chill restaurant/bar on the huge beach and only locals since 30min taxi from Barcelona.
Also, must do a day trip to Montserrat monastery in the mountains.
And of course Sagrada Família and Park Güell.
Tibidabo is cool too. Perhaps at sunset.
Thumbs up on El Gòtic too = the old town.
It’s an awesome destination.
Make sure you buy tickets in advance to la Sagrada Família and Park Guell. Check out El Nacional for lunch
I loved going up to Montjuic Castle. It has amazing views and a really cool history. On top of that you can take like a funicular up the hill which is fun. I would take time to wander around the Gothic Quarter for sure. Just take in the architecture and sights.
I know you aren’t looking for food recommendations, but you should check out this place called Firebug for brunch. It was amazing and super affordable
Make sure you climb the hill behind Park Guell for the best 360 views of the city. You don’t need a ticket to do it.
Do hop on hop off day 1 to see sights and get the lay of the land
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! 🙂
Thanks for asking op lol I’m there for the first time later this summer
My absolute favorite city in the world. I’d suggest you just walk around anywhere and everywhere for a day and lose yourself in the city’s beauty (since you have 5 days). Otherwise other suggestions above are great! Even if you aren’t a foodie, try all the tapas you can while you are there
