I'm wanting to advance to a lead/supervisor position but I keep being turned down because I don't have enough supervisory experience. I have 5+ years in medical coding, 3 in medical records and 10 in accounting. I've mostly worked in smaller facilities where I've taken on numerous roles under one title. How am I supposed to gain supervisory experience if no one will give me a chance?

I have been approached by 3 separate HR people at a startup company to interview for a position. I already have a fulltime job that pays well and I only started 6 months ago too. Is there such thing as “partially toxic” work environments? I am in industry and the close weeks (5-8 BD) are just brutal, brings out bad nature in everyone, hours are long and stress is high.
