Recruiter gives salary range of 130-145k in initial convo. I say under 155k would be hard, he says “$10k higher, that’s doable.” Healthcare at company sucks - so Now want to ask for 160k. Is that ok?

Idk I’ve heard going back on something previously agreed on can look bad but I think if you explain your reasoning should be fine. Not likely to pull an offer for a $5k ask. Good luck!

OP sorry, I don’t think that’s justified. You should have went into negotiation knowing you wouldn’t get free healthcare. This would look bad on you

If it’s justified, yes. However, basic math tells me it doesn’t make sense. That is unless you have 1+ child or an illness. Present the numbers and case in an email

Perhaps I asked for too much, but it didn't work in the last verbal offer I received. They couldn't find the budget to provide me with a significant enough pay raise to also make up for some of the benefits I would lose. 5 weeks PTO (after 10 years), 6 pct 401k match, paid city parking vs 3 weeks PTO, 4 pct 401k match, no parking...

I’ve tried this before and it didn’t work - mine was for $5k over a different benefit. I still took it since $5k doesn’t matter much in the scheme of things, but I do wonder whether there was a bit of skepticism afterwards since I knew they went to bat to get me the already higher offer

If healthcare sucks then all bets are off. Healthcare is a giant equalizer. Even if you ask for 20k more and you get hospitalized with aftercare even once, it eats that. Don’t toss up the coins with health.

I have an chronic autoimmune illness that requires me to use my healthcare quite a bit. I don’t think I would have to tell an employer that. That’s ridiculous.

Doesn’t matter. What you just said shut this deal down. This company, no matter what it is offering, cannot offer you healthcare properly when you have a chronic issue. The response is no unless you’re married and your spouse has better insurance.

The healthcare being bad means only a high deductible option. It’s not terrible, but significant downgrade from where I am right now.

Reaction Icon Like

High deductible but low copays for the services you use most? Low max out of pocket for in and out of network providers?

Reaction Icon Like
Arrow Icon

Right now: I have free healthcare (no money paid per paycheck), deductible is $400, out of pocket max is like $2,000 or something, and co pays are like $10 for regular docs and $20 for specialists. New potential company isn’t even close to these numbers. Which is why I’m thinking of asking for the extra $5k.

Reaction Icon Like

Our insurance is terrible, but our out of pocket Max is like $7k so things would have to go terribly wrong for that to matter

Wow your health insurance is pretty good

Can someone explain the difference between FB’s Partner Solutions Manager and the Strategic Partner Manager? From an initial recruiter call, it seems the SPM provides the consultative product recs while the PSM onboards the client onto that product and tracks performance to provide actionable recs as needed. Anyone know career growth and salary for these two? I don’t want a sales heavy/only lateral growth role like their client solutions manager roles so these seem like good compromises?

Firm i am interviewing with is a midsize firm. I have 3 years of complex lit experience, they do simple property law. They need me for pre-lit only. No interviewers were able to discuss compensation, so they set me up with a phone call with the owner today. Owner never called. Part of me wants to send a passive agressive email telling them no thanks because they do not respect my time and another part of me wants to be understanding. What do i do?
