Bless your heart CW1. I agree that’s about right. But no. Tempted to share the agency name but I’ll just go do some laundry instead.
"Laundry" cmon people
That’s a damn good rate for DDB Arkansas
My friends. This is N Y C.
I had one call me for a freelance CD job paying $40 an hour. I told her to never, ever call me again.
So you’re talking about laundry service? And they are probably offering $500 day rate and the recruiter is taking half? They probably can’t afford to pay much more these days after losing most of their accounts!
I think even in Fayetteville, that’s the rate for sophomores in high school considering maybe majoring in advertising one day.
^ that was the perfect time to bust out the interrobang 👏👏
$250 for a CD?!?!?!? That’s shit for a junior. My god that’s insulting, and a recruiter who is terrible at their job. At least say what city please
The whole industry is lowballing right now. And it’s not going away. Soon creative talent will be all be going into other industries and all that will be left will be technologists.
She might have accidentally responded with hourly? That’s a day rate of 2,000 which I believe is about right for a CD.
CW4 where are you that you're swatting away sub $800/day? (Assuming that includes numbers like $750)
I'm hearing $75/hr is where Chicago is sitting right about now.
This thread makes me feel very inadequate.
Fayetteville??
Oh god WHO DID THIS‽!‽?!
God, that’s embarrassing. I swat away the sub $800/day offers like flies, but $250 is an insult to the industry as a whole
Im a junior freelance ad and I get more than that.
I got that as an intern/junior in chi. Wow.
I'm seeing rates (and jobs) all together drop steeply in NYC from just 5 years ago. It's damned troubling.
CD3 and BBDO1, totally agree. I had not a concern even 2 years ago. But now, tumbleweeds...
