Recruiter reached out to me to schedule an interview for an internal audit role at a credit union. She also mentioned that the pay is $60k - $75k depending on experience. It seems low to me considering I have 5 years of public accounting experience. Is this a typical IA salary at credit unions? Should I bother interviewing?

Sometimes is nice to interview to get back in the game. When you haven’t interviewed in a while and go into an interview for a job you really want you might be more nervous. This gives you practice for the questions that are asked and how to be better prepared in the future. I have definitely done interviews for jobs I had 0 thoughts about taking.

I went for a role that works similar to internal audit with 4 years of experience for $100k. Don’t sell urself short

Id take the interview for practice, especially if you haven’t in a while.

Nothing to lose doing interviews nowadays due. One benefit of work from home. How do you all dress for virtual interviews, still going with suits for the fellas?

It depends on the size of the credit union and if you are passionate about working for financial cooperative. Some credit union are bigger than the community banks.

Depends what the market is but even 75k seems very low for 5 years experience. If you left after 1-2 years it wouldn’t be too bad. Also internal audit... ehhhh

Secret about credit unions...they are not for profit so they pay BIG bonuses! I’d ask that first could be between salary and bonus you come out ahead of where you think you will ...

I’m trying to figure out what I’m worth. I’m a director / editor who works directly in-house at an agency. I’ve directed several (roughly one a month) broadcast spots in the last year for a national fast food client and I’ve also edited those spots among editing other random national spots in-between. The production budgets range from roughly 200k-500k per shoot depending on how many days it is. I get paid 75k yearly which is feeling pretty low when I do the math. Is that fair?

My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but I have a few former classmates and colleagues sweating over lateral interviews. Take a deep breath and relax.

First, doing these interviews does not define you as a person.

Second, take it one day at a time; if they are moving forward, they see something in you.

Third, remember that the people interviewing you are human beings. Connect with them, be personable.
