Has any freelance producers felt like it’s a quieter month or two right now and not getting work? Been looking for work and have never had an issue before. But striking out. Starting to get a little nervous. Any tips? Thoughts? Would love to hear the longest you’ve ever been out from work freelancing.
Is there a generic book that breaks down the different components of the financial system (i.e commercial banks, investment banks, merchant banks and etc.). I wish to share a book with interns.

One of the major challenges I've encountered in starting a union in my workplace is that people who are woke enough to know we need one are also the ones smart enough to jump ship.
Are there any noteworthy mid size or boutique firms for privacy law? If so, what are they?
Anyone have experience working as a contract Project Manager? I’ve been in medical device manufacturing for almost 6 years, currently making $120k as a Project Manager. Getting a lot of recruiters for contract positions in the same industry. Do these typically guarantee 40 hours per week? If so, it seems a no brainer to consider as I could bump my pay up to $150k-$180k and be able to change projects every year. What’s been your experience working as a contract PM? Would you recommend?
Any one at Amazon who currently travelled outside US for personal reasons and had to get an H1-B stamp? What was the guidance from lawyers and how did you navigate the process with HR?

What determines strike price?
I view equity in startups as a potential future bonus. Currently, I’m evaluating a seed funded private tech startup that is net positive with a couple million $$ in annual revenue. I’ve been offered a few hundred options and am trying to understand if their strike price ($$$) is fair or not. What additional details would you ask the employer to share in order to determine if the equity offer is market competitive or not?
I couldn’t find a bowl dedicated specifically to the work, so I started one.

I was told I could choose a hybrid schedule during my interviews, been here 2 months, nobody has brought it up. Id like to send any email to the GC and CEO letting them know I would like 2 days WFH each week. Any advice on what I should say in the email?
So today I got played. I went against my better Judgment and tried to be a nice guy and it blew up in my face.

Catch 22: I have 3yoe in a nonprofit/policy org and I want a new job bc I feel stagnant in my role and want to make more $$ (currently make $90k) However, the only positions I’m qualified for are other nonprofit/policy gigs that I have found all pay less than my current org. I keep getting rejected frm other roles that pay more bc I have dnt have any other relevant experience. So my current org has me stuck both literally and figuratively. Moreso venting than seeking advice bc I tried everything

I’m currently a fourth year associate at a good-sized firm in the NYC area (100+ attorneys). High billable requirement (about 2150 per year), and I believe my salary is too low.
To be on the safe side, rather than post my salary, I’d like to know what you all think someone in that position/at that experience level should be making.
Anyone in this bowl did the CAMS exam? If so, is this an exam that can be passed without AML experience?
What’s a truth about being a lawyer that seems like it should be obvious, but if no one tells you in law school or when you’re first starting out, it only occurs to you in retrospect, years later?
Any recruiters here? How soon is too soon to leave a job ? I hear the argument for waiting a year but what if I completely suffer a mental breakdown by then? Will it be worth it for a “better” looking resume? Is one year anywhere even that impressive?
Can any practitioners tell me how securities litigation is holding up during this pandemic?
First-year associate here. For all those who have lateraled in this market, do you recommend I make the jump to a bigger law firm? I love my partner and enjoy the work, but the compensation is extremely low for comparable mid-size firms. I bill over the minimum billable requirements every month, and I’ve been told I’m a good associate and have good work product. Lately, it’s hard to feel motivated knowing that I’m billing as much as people making double what I make.
