Hi guys,
I am currently on notice period and my LWD is Sep 2, 2022. Today, I got an offer from state street mentioning my joining date as Sep 12, 2022 even though I already told HR that I would like to join from Sep 5 itself. How can I convince HR to prepone my joining date to Sep 5, 2022. I don't want to lose my one week salary guys. Pls suggest. State Street
Hi fishes! Nagarro declined the counter offer letter ₹33,00,000 + shares worth 4.5LPA
I've 6+ yrs experience (mobile dev.)
Nagarro offered 18LPA. Initially I told HR for 22 but he mentioned 18 into their internal portal to their senior so after clearing all interview rounds I got 18.
When I asked the HR, he told me to accept it for now and bring the counter offer letter so they can revise offer letter.
But now they declined. Weird.

Hello, I have received an offer from Southwest Airlines as a Associate Technology Analyst with their direct college hire program. Will be graduating in May with a degree in MIS and also have internships experience as a Business Systems analyst intern. The salary compensation started off at 66,500 but was looking for the 75k range and they got back to me saying the best they can do is 68,500. They also have a 401k company match up to 9.3%. Do you think this is a solid offer for this job market?

Look. Everything is negotiable and you should always try to negotiate as much as you can. If they won’t budge on salary, negotiate for more pto, cell phone or WiFi reimbursement, more wfh benefits, etc.
Howeverrrrrrrr it is kind of a weird look to initially know and agree to the salary range, go through the whole process, and then say you want more salary than what they have approved. If they were open about it up front you should be open about how thats lower than your expectations.
I agree with both of these, but then again change is constant and inevitable. In the interim of interviewing for one position I’ve started interviewing for the same position elsewhere but for higher pay. So I think it’s something that can potentially be discussed at multiple points in the process. Also, I don’t think it’s weak to wait for them to make the first offer. It actually gives you more power negotiating, especially applying for junior roles when you don’t have much leverage to begin with. I was just trying to vet any experience on the other end of the hiring process for juniors to gauge whether this is even possible.
Absolutely there is always room for negotiation - and if your role is related to sales in anyway, you best negotiate your offer to show that you have strong negotiating skills. Offer will not be rescinded because of negotiation, and if it is, WRONG company!

If the employer won’t negotiate.. RUN.
Never hurts to ask, but there’s only so many bargaining chips you hold as a junior, I feel like one counter offer is acceptable and see if they’ll move up a bit
I would be cautious about using a counter offer to negotiate in general, but if you feel the salary offer is lower than market standard, then you can say “I’ve found in my research since we began this conversation that some agencies are offering X for this level. Could you meet this salary range?”

Suppose they ask you first, “what are you looking to make” or something like that. Never give them an exact number or range.
I would respond what’s the “salary band” for the position or something to that effect because they have a range to offer.
Of course, if you give a low number undervaluing yourself/not research what a normal pay range is, then; they would offer the lowest salary possible.
I would add to this - if possible, respond to this question with: “can you share a salary range you were thinking for this role?” just so you can give your most informed answer. There is no harm in asking this question so you can best advocate for yourself and give the most accurate range in response.
