Refreshing my product’s vision and came across this absolute gem that I buried in a footnote last year:

“If you get above 70% CSAT for enterprise software you get a lucite plaque and are written about in ‘Inc.’ magazine”

Hi All,
I am joining EY GDS next month. I have heard a lot about hectic work hours in EY and no work life balance. Is it true? If yes, how many hrs working should we expect in a day to be mentally prepared.

Hi All,
Promotion letters are out for C2 and C3A

Close to an offer from Deloitte Consulting but being told that they only hire into the MD track now VS the Principal track. How are MDs treated VS Principals and any real difference?

Greetings all.

I currently work in consulting, planning on transitioning to Big Law. I’m speaking with a recruiter who has been quite proactive. No interviews at the moment. I plan on sending cold networking emails to partners/associates (mostly POCs) with whom I share some starter connections, meet for coffee and see where things go.

Any tips you can share with me on how best to manage this? There invariably will be a lot of rejections but I believe all I need do is get it right once.

Hi Fishes

I gave google silicon interview all 4 rounds 3+ months back, from then they are saying they want to hire me but headcount approval is not yet received.
Last week they said, lets go for one more round and finalize immediately. That interview also went very good.
Post that they didn't call back itself, they have stopped responding also.

Has anybody faced this issue? This I feel completely unprofessional and not really expected from Google.

Hey all - I currently work as PM at a NY agency. However, I went to school in Boston and my partner is from the North Shore. We’re thinking about making the move back to Boston early next year. Does anyone have an insight into the ad industry in Boston? What’s it like? Are agencies hiring? How’s the culture? If anyone has worked in NY as well I’d love to hear about how the two cities are different from an ad industry perspective.

Is anyone following the potential change in tax laws regarding that up to 10k of unemployment may not be taxable? Well here goes my summer for amending tax returns.

Additional Posts in Product Management

Hi everyone! I recently transitioned from a technical project manager role to an integrations product manager role. I am loving this so much more than project management and I’m very eager to learn more! I was curious what are some of the best books, articles, courses that have helped you grow the most? And do you have any other tips and recommendations for someone just starting out in this career path?

Thank you in advance!

Anyone here a Data Product Manager who wouldn’t mind having a quick chat about practices within this area of the business?

Hi 🐠🐟

Looking for some WISDOM. 🙏🏻 I’m currently in strategy consulting and looking to transition into PM within tech.

For those that have done so:
1. How did you go about doing it?
2. Any insights/recommendations on making the switch?
3. Are there particular consulting skills that are highly valued for a PM role?

Any suggestions would be appreciative! :)

How have you navigated periods when you’re acting more as a TPM than as a PM? Lots of time spent on reactive work recently without enough time to invest in product strategy and what’s coming next.

What is the outlook for non-exec Product Managers over the age of 50? Do I need to start looking into post-PM careers? As much as I want to remain energetic and youthful, I fear I won’t be able to find interesting places to do this job thru age 67.

Thoughts on becoming a "Growth & New Initiatives PM"?

I was a regular PM managing my own vertical and now have the opportunity for a new role in the org. No promo or cash related, just jurisdiction wise.

I'd be focusing on:
For old product-
-Free Trial
For new product-
-Building out from scratch
-UI/UX related user feedback
-sales and marketing focus
-use cases and features

Is this a good move career wise? Love being a PM and looking to grow.
Prefer new product > old

Advice needed. Love product management, and love my industry, but not my current employer. Also have a non-compete, in a state that seems to be pro-non-compete. Thoughts?

Got a call back from Deloitte for a lead product manager role. Interview with hiring manager. Really want to do well, tips please!!

I’m a senior PM considering making the move to consulting. Ideally, I’d want to work to teach others how to be a product manager. Does anyone have any recommendations in terms of companies/jobs? I’m already looking at places like Pivotal Labs and ThoughtWorks. Been difficult finding these types of positions at places like Deloitte Digital and BCG.

Any thoughts on staying in the same industry vs moving around as a product manager?

I’m trying to collect some supporting reviews/feedback from some of my stakeholders for an upcoming employee review cycle (we don’t do 360s). In the past these have been sent directly to manager but is there another way to collect them to present to manager/hr? Is it weird to ask them to send directly to me for me to present?

How to manage a boss that micro-manages information flow, puts off meetings/people? It’s causing ALOT of down stream delays & technical debt. I am new to this team.

Just finished “Hooked”, what’s another good read in product/tech genre? Something educational preferably, I have Dance w Dragons to finish for pure entertainment.

How does one move from a BA position to a Manager level position?
I have an MBA in IT Project Management and several years experience in various Business Analyst roles. Every IT/Project/Product Manager role requires several years experience to get it.

Anyone heard of in the Bay Area?
Thoughts on that place and their tech?
Company culture? Anything is helpful.

Of course I looked them up in Google, but I want to know more.
