(Cont.) this belief is actually the whole point. Making someone believe something that is absurd as part of their identity is a LONG established way of brainwashing someone. It is what the scientologists do, its what Islamic terror organizations do, its what the Nazis did. The fact that it is stupid is the whole point. This is how you make zealots and terrorists. That is the only possible intent of doing this. This is how you radicalize a normie.

Legitttttttttt propaganda at its finest

I don’t think saying it should be up to an individual to determine whether they should stay home, operate their business, or get a vaccine is equivalent to covid denialism or being anti vax….. Also many of the unvaccinated are low income minorities which can be explained by any number of things (access, job hours, hesitancy bc of historical injustices, etc). The news likes to blame a FAR RIGHT CONSPIRACY but they also need something to jabber about 24/7 now that orange man is out of the White House and off Twitter.

OP, literally everything you just said could be said said about the left’s stances on Covid and their politicization of it….

EY2 yes, please go back and reread those comments. They clearly say they didn’t trust one person in particular to be truthful in a vaccine push.

By the same token, the left wing political parties are using pro-vax, avid covid sensationalism as an isolating issue to radicalize their base. This does not get them more votes, because these were already their supporters, but it does make them far more entrenched in their views because of the livelihood and social sunk cost of alienating them from everyone else. The absurdity and high cost of this belief is actually the whole point. Making someone believe that something that is absurd as part of their identity is a LONG established way of brainwashing someone. The fact that it is stupid is the whole point. This is just flat out wrong. Please cite republican senators or congress people, specifically telling people to NOT get the vaccine.

People generally listen to the talking heads on TV, not the politicians. As for politicians telling people not to get the vaccine, MTG comes to mind. She’s getting a highly disproportionate amount of airtime for a new congresswoman.

Get off social media. Majority of people are normal. We disagree, but I don’t want you to live a miserable life or wish you harm no matter your stance. Try to show some grace to people and understand where they are coming from and everything will be ok.

Sounds like you’ve got it all figured out

If you believe the "right" politicians are actually "right" you are wrong. The left and right are two sides of the same coin: bigger government, smaller you. Extremism doesn't exist. But government extremism does exist.

Tired of being shamed by family for the precautions I’m taking to ensure my family, including 2-month-old, are not putting ourselves in any situation that may cause unnecessary risk of contracting covid. Was called selfish for not attending a bday party (ironic), was made to feel bad when I asked family (who had travelled to Florida for fun, gone out to bars/restaurants, etc.) to get tested before coming to see the newborn. Just be respectful of how others are dealing with the pandemic, please!

Curious, are attorneys taking cases to sue hospitals and staff that the family members claim have ‘wrongly’ intubated unvaccinated COVID patients? As in they should not have been intubated? Saw a FB page where a woman is blaming the hospital staff that his husband should not have been intubated and says she has been contacted by many attorneys to sue the hospital.

Does anyone know of where to find remote part time work opportunities for older Indian women? My mom was a part-time after school teacher but has not been doing that due to covid (dad is high risk). She’s a great teacher though and she’s trilingual (Telugu, hindi) - anyone know of where to find opportunities?
