I don’t do any SOX, I only do operational and compliance audits. I also manage an enterprise high risk issue validation process. There is opportunity for me to progress to a VP over 5 years within IA, or 2 years in another department. But I don’t know if that’s what I want to do. What roles could my experience get me in the market?

Do you think it will be of any benefit from career standpoint to pursue Post Graduate Diploma in Management(PGDM) from Grade A (IMT/NMMIS etc.) college in India through Distance learning. I’m having 11 years of experience and currently working as an Individual Contributor.

What does your firm do for you if you complete a technical certification. Say for AWS, GCP, or Microsoft? Do you get reimbursed? A Bonus? How much? Does it differ based on the difficulty of the cert?

What’s the correct ratio of staff to seniors? I am currently filling out reviews and was astonished that I had 9 to fill out from a recent year-end. Looking back I understand why it felt so overwhelming all the time and why I was constantly on calls or getting pings. What has your experience even and what is a good ratio that balances efficiency with growth? Also - does public vs private client play into it?

I would say my least favorite part of audit is when senior managers change the format of your workpapers to make it more fancy format wise and show you did more work than was needed.. But don't actually do the work documented and then you have to resolve the partner review comments pointing this out 😅 you da real MVP!
